If you are looking for a Christian therapist (and ordained minister) who is not afraid to talk about the hard stuff, then I am the counselor for you.
Are you tired of fighting about sex, living more like roommates than lovers? Do you argue with your spouse more than you get along? Are past hurts getting in the way of present-tense happiness? When you meet with me, we will work together to create real and lasting change in your marriage. No, it won't be easy; but it will be worth it. And through it all, you will find hope, help, and healing in a caring, Christ-centered environment.

Full Hearts Counseling is a Christian centered organization that uses a myriad of counseling approaches to help each person find their own healing and strengthen relationships.
Therapists at Full Hearts Counseling believe that pain can end. We can’t undo the bad things that happen in life, nor can we help you to forget that they occurred. We can help you to find some renewal of hope for a better tomorrow. Full Hearts counseling specializes in treating people with complex or developmental trauma. Trauma is described as having been exposed to a real or perceived life threat or fear-provoking event in your childhood, recent past, or present that has produced an increased anxiety reaction.

It is my great pleasure to work with many people to help them achieve their goals, find comfort and peace, and live well adjusted, fulfilling lives. I am blessed to have provided services to those needing help with: childhood disorders, grief, abuse, marriage and family conflict, bullying, stress management, parenting, faith crises, premarital and many more.

As a Christian , I believe I am called to help people heal.
Are you or your child struggling with past trauma? Unresolved trauma can manifest in many ways. Often people are depressed, anxious or constantly worried. You might find that even the most mundane tasks are overwhelming. In children, this can often look like frequent tantrums, defiance or poor performance. People often try a multitude of things before seeking therapy. But often exploring these traumas in a safe, non-judgmental space can be just the thing you or your child may need.

Your Christian beliefs can also be incorporated into the sessions.
Facing the great unknown? Depression, anxiety or fear? Have you experienced abuse or trauma? I counsel people ages 18 and up experiencing anxiety, depression, fear, grief, relational issues, mood disorders, addictions, long-term illness, and phase of life problems. This is accomplished from a non-judgmental perspective, going at a pace you set. We can use EMDR techniques to increase helpful internal resources and decrease the intensity of emotions and other material from traumatic situations.

Hi, I'm Nici, and I'm glad you are here. I started Crown of Hope Counseling after six years of experience as a chaplain at a trauma level one hospital, feeling utter heartbreak at never knowing how the grieving individuals I served were coping after the immediate grief season. Grief extends far beyond the few days after loss, and I am passionate about walking with you on the journey to healing and hope. I believe in wholeheartedly continuing the legacy of the ones who have passed. Their death is not a period, but a comma— A story that continues to unfold with an abundance of love.

You are created for connection. Each of us wants a place where we belong and feel most ourselves. Sometimes, even in families and romantic partnerships, loneliness and feelings of inadequacy can creep in causing you to feel insecure in your relationships. You rehearse your perceived mistakes and fall into a cycle of isolation and negative emotions. The more you fail, the more you internalize your failures and feel hopelessness and discouragement. I want to help you break free of hopelessness and experience a sustaining joy and peace in who you are, your purpose in life, and the value you bring to your relationships.

Christian Therapists

Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?

Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?

Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?

Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?

While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?

The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
