Courage. At Transitions, I understand the difficulty for many clients to come into therapy and find a tharapist who can relate to their individual needs. I believe that people are resilient, and have inner strengths that need assistance being supported and tapped into. My clients come from many different backgrounds and have often been through a great deal of emotional pain before comming to therapy. I support, educate, enlighten, challenge and love my clients through their various personal challenges. I believe that no challenge is too big to be overcome if the client is willing to work at it.

Sessions are in-person in Grand Prairie TX or conducted by Google Meet from any private location you choose in Texas.
You're tired of not getting your needs met and again putting yourself last. Another day, another argument. Maybe others don't know how your past keeps getting in the way of your life. People expect you to just get over things and move on, but you're finding that harder and harder to do. You get advice from trusted friends, but nothing really changes, so you are not sure that talking about things with a counselor will really help.

I believe clients are the experts of their lives, and I respect their unique perspectives and journeys. Therefore, the ideal clients are those individuals who wish to make positive changes in their lives but may need help figuring out the steps needed to improve their conditions. These clients may be struggling with histories of trauma, relationship conflict, self-doubt, depression, adjustment difficulty, or other situations that affect their wellbeing and interpersonal relationships. Their overall goals are to leave behind feelings of guilt and shame and to feel confident and empowered.

I believe the best therapy goes beyond textbooks. My clinical training guides my work, but challenging life experiences have also taught me about resilience, healing, and the power of hope. I specialize in working with at-risk children, women, and families navigating trauma, crisis, life transitions, and family challenges. My approach is compassionate, genuine, practical, and judgment-free. You are more than your diagnosis, trauma, mistakes, or hardest chapter. I’ll meet you where you are, help you find your voice, recognize your strengths, and move forward. Your story is still being written—and there is hope for what comes next.

Everyday is a fresh start! I most certainly believe that Seasons Change and so do You! Often times when grief, toxic relationships overtake and break our hearts; caregiving stretches us, depression and anxiety infiltrate our minds; self-esteem and the inability to express thoughts and feelings; emotions overtake our voice; clients find themselves hiding in the shadows; just existing and not living; doing and not being. Learning to live within your desired lifestyle, gaining your voice, awareness, and setting goals to lead a mindful and healthier lifestyle innately inspires clients to move forward in whatever season they're facing.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
