I work with individual and group counseling for anxiety, anger management, career counseling, depression, grief, infertility, pre-marital counseling and couple counseling
I am a firm believer that life is a journey and not a destination. Sometimes on this journey of life, we will encounter experiences that we need to walk through and not run through. It's a fact that challenges are apart of our lives. Your challenges don't have to overwhelm or overtake you. I am committed to helping you to be successful in your journey. I am committed to helping you identify and do the work to be your best for yourself and for those whose lives you touch. I will provide a safe, non-judgmental environment that is conducive to an honest, empathetic and direct exchange of information and ideas.

I help new parents in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who are struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety find their way back to themselves — and feel confident in who they are becoming. Postpartum depression in the DFW area often goes unrecognized or gets dismissed as just the baby blues. If you have been struggling since your baby arrived — feeling sad, numb, irritable, or disconnected — you are not failing. You may just need support that actually meets you where you are and helps you reconnect with your own sense of peace, strength, and self-trust.

I also work often with adults and teens to provide support though the myriad of concerns and struggles that arise throughout life with infertility being one of my specialities.
Regardless of age, I typically operate from the client-centered perspective in which I believe that you are the expert of you and that with support, encouragement, and guidance you are able to determine what fits best for your life and your situation. Essentially, I do not follow a one size fits all approach and understand that we are all unique.

Additionally, I specialize in infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy loss, postpartum depression/anxiety, and new parent transitions.
My calling into counseling grew from my own infertility journey. Walking through miscarriages and failed treatments taught me the deep emotional weight of this experience. Healing from that rollercoaster shaped my heart for this work and allows me to support others with empathy, understanding, and genuine care.

At The Marriage Clinic we have been saving and strengthening marriages for over 35 years. We understand how hard it is for partners to feel alone in a relationship that was once so close, or to feel they are always letting their partner down or not good enough no matter what they do. We also know how difficult it is for couples who feel they constantly fight with each other, sometimes over seemingly small things or having the same fights over and over.

Creating better relationships is my passion! Even in the times when you don't know if your relationship can be repaired, there are ways to make your relationship better. I know what it's like to feel that disconnect, and have no idea what to do about it. If you are like me, you have read all the books, taken all the workshops, listened to all the podcasts, and saved all the social media posts. Unfortunately, all the understanding in the world won't solve this problem. It goes much deeper and often requires professional help. As an LMFT and lifelong student of relationships, I can help you go from insight to change

Hello — I’m Emily, and if you’re reading this, you may be feeling stuck in patterns you’re ready to change. Maybe you’re carrying worry, self-doubt, overwhelm, or relational pain. Perhaps you’ve survived trauma, lost your sense of direction, or simply feel like life should feel different than it does. My belief is this: you don’t have to walk this path alone. Healing happens when you have someone in your corner — someone who sees you, gets you, and helps you move forward. Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, depression, transitions, relational or family challenges, or past sexual trauma — you’ll find a safe, compassionate space.

I work with individuals, couples going through depression and grief and women navigating loss of identity, infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, and postpartum depression.
I am trained in EMDR, treatment of depression and interpersonal neurobiology. If you're carrying grief, PTSD, C-PTSD, and trauma that never quite healed, I want you to know that change is possible, and you don't have to figure it out alone. My work is not to fix you, because you are not broken. It is to sit with you, understand you, and help you rediscover your Self, strength, and wisdom that have always lived within you.

From student athletes who feel the pressure to be successful both on and off the field, to moms who carry the weight of keeping their household running while navigating societal pressures to “get it right”, to young adults whose lives are full of transition and a mission to determine their purpose, life can be overwhelming to navigate alone. What do all of these roles have in common? Each of these individuals are navigating confidence, performance anxiety, fear of failure, and the weight of expectations. Each of these roles involve transition, redefining identities, and adjusting to new responsibilities and expectations.

We are hard-wired for connection, growth, purpose and joy. Sometimes we just need a little help. Every stage of life challenges us to discover ourselves and others in new ways. This can be exciting and rewarding. It can also be confusing and scary. We may start to notice patterns in our lives that cause us to stumble, get stuck, doubt ourselves, or settle for way less than is actually possible. Counseling can be an incredible source of support and a source of new insight and skills as we work to change these patterns… and we can change patterns, break cycles and experience more satisfying love, freedom, joy and security.

FAQ - Therapy for Infertility
How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?
Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?
The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?
Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?
There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
