I am also an LGBTQIA+ ally.
My dream is to see my clients discover their purpose, restore their identity, and heal from past pain. As a mental health coach and pastoral counselor, my goal is to help people shift from living in pain to embracing wholeness and purpose. Over the past 7 years, the care I have provided to my clients has impacted their lives, their family systems, and their future. I counsel and coach from an authentic, yet nurturing perspective. I keep it real and help propel people to greatness through connection and individualization. I use my diverse legal, theological, and mental health background to help my clients go from hurt to whole.

I have worked with children, adolescents, emerging adults (20-25), adults (25-60), couples, minorities, and those who identify within the queer community.
Drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, somatic techniques, play therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, family systems, solution-focused and other interventions, I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of my clients. I often use creative, developmentally appropriate tools to encourage emotional expression and build coping skills.

Your life looks organized from the outside; the part no one sees is how tense, tired, and alone you feel in it. You are used to solving complex problems and making high stakes decisions, often with other people quietly relying on you to get it right. Lately your stress has been getting louder. You notice yourself snapping or shutting down, overthinking every interaction, avoiding certain conversations, or feeling miles away even when you are sitting next to someone you love, and you are starting to wonder how long you can keep going like this.

I am passionate about working with trauma survivors, LGBTQ+ clients, and neurodivergent individuals, helping them feel deeply seen and supported in their identities.
Therapy is more than working through the week’s problems. It’s about reconnecting with your authentic self, honoring your story, and finding new ways to move through life’s challenges. I believe healing happens in connection, and I strive to create a space where every part of you feels welcome, even the parts that feel heavy, messy, or hard to hold. My approach is holistic and relational, rooted in multicultural feminist principles and guided by both the mind and body.

You are a motivated, empathic, and sensitive woman. Lately, you feel lost and numb, and wonder if you will ever feel better. You thought you were ok, but past experiences have reappeared. Anxiety and sadness have crept in. No one can tell because you hold it all together. Faking a smile, scrolling, avoiding, or withdrawing isn’t helping anymore. You’re exhausted. It’s taking a toll, and you have shut down. You want to feel confident, less shame and self-doubt, and no longer feel the past is in control. You’re ready to make lasting changes. You’re ready to feel again and gain a sense of calm and peace from what is holding you back.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or caught in the same patterns over and over again, therapy can help. I work with teens, adults, and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, infidelity, life transitions, low motivation, anger, trauma, compulsive behaviors, and self-destructive patterns. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling disconnected from themselves or the people they love — but they’re ready for real change. My style is direct, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and practical. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation, not a cold clinic

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
