Imagine facing the world with a sense of confidence and peace instead of fear or shame. Imagine looking at your partner and being filled with feelings of love, gratitude, and excitement. Imagine waking up to feel freed from your past and free to live your future! During periods of struggle, we can feel isolated and directionless in our experience and not where to turn or what to do. As a human, I understand suffering. As a therapist, my intention is to honor every part of your humanness and walk alongside you on the path towards wellness.

“Pain is generational trauma. Healing is generational wealth.” -Katie La. In my practice, my clinicians & I specialize in trauma-informed therapy rooted in a decolonized & justice-oriented lens. That means we see you not just as an individual, but in the context of your story, your culture, your ancestors, and the systems you’ve had to navigate. Many of the people are carrying more than just personal pain — they’re carrying intergenerational wounds, cultural expectations, or the weight of having to survive in systems not built for them.

Are emotional highs and lows leaving you drained, disconnected, or at odds with the people you care about most? Whether you're navigating mood swings, negative self-talk, disrupted sleep, or relationship strain, sometimes all it takes is one honest outside perspective to start making sense of it. You don't have to carry this alone — and you don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out.

Like many, I have my own story—one shaped by my family of origin, health challenges, and a range of life experiences that have influenced how I understand people, pain, and the power of healing. These experiences have not only shaped my worldview but have also become valuable tools in my therapeutic work. I’ve found healing and growth through meaningful relationships, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible resilience of families who, despite seemingly insurmountable challenges, find ways to reconnect, rebuild, and thrive. It is the resilience of my own family that continues to inspire me and fuel my commitment to this work.

Building a trusting, compassionate relationship is my foremost priority in therapy. I help clients develop strengths, assertiveness, and resiliency to cope with life's challenges while reorienting to more adaptive thoughts + feelings, improving relationships and increasing attunement. I believe that our brains are naturally adaptive and a clear understanding of how your mind works can empower healthy change. That’s why I use a combination of attachment theory, trauma-informed mindfulness, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), and Gottman Institute's research-based approach to therapy.

I also use CBT, trauma focused, somatic therapy, and an attachment-based lens.
Experience fear of rejection or abandonment? Has a pattern of bad relationships left you feeling like you just can’t get it right? Do you lay in bed at night with racing thoughts? Feel like you can’t control worry? If you have anxiety or complex trauma (C-PTSD), you may feel like you’re not enough, yet somehow, too much. You fear something is wrong with you. But you're not broken, and you don’t have to live this way. Let's work to improve your relationship with yourself and with others. My goal is to help you find clarity of thought, peace of mind, and ways to improve your life from the inside out. It's not too late to begin again.

My clients often come to me with life transition issues (teens, parenting challenges, relationship issues, major life events, trauma) and are experiencing a loss of identity, lack of direction and symptoms of pervasive anxiety . Together we explore with compassion for the journey to this point, identifying the life worth living and develop a cohesive treatment plan to meet those goals. Through peeling back layers of an onion, we tackle areas of trauma, hurt, shame as we grow empathy for self and tools to start actively changing the cycle of pain. My proudest moment is when a client is able to step down in treatment as goals are met.

In a hectic and unpredictable world, finding space to pause and submerge into one’s inner existence is a rarity. It can be difficult to allow ourselves this space until happenstances like grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and burnout pull the rug out from under us. All living things on this planet, humans included, are conditioned by their environment and genetics. Years of our life are spent implicitly being influenced by others and life experiences. Processing through how these influences and experiences have impacted us explicitly bring them to awareness.

I work with some of the most brilliant and exquisite, yet tortured minds. It is an honor to hold their stories in time and space. Our work together can lead to a deeper exploration of the psyche, searching for shimmering nuances of existential congruence that lead to genuine ways of being.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
