I'm a native of Chicago and grew up in the heart of the Midwest. I have lived and worked in Africa, Europe, Asia, South America, and the Caribbean. I have been active working as a middle and high school counselor, a therapist for Integral Care of Austin, and more recently in private practice.

I am a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) practitioner. My primary goal as a therapist is to assist clients to reach their goals and to maximize happiness/well-being through making cognitive and behavioral changes. My secondary goal is to assist clients to have the necessary tools and skills to be their own therapist/self-help expert. I have been practicing, and studying the philosophical roots of, CBT since 2007. From 2007 to 2017, I worked as a CBT practitioner within the criminal justice system. During that time, I earned my Masters Degree (2016) and became licensed in Texas (2017).

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor in Tyler Texas. In 2019, earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas in 2003.

My goal as a counselor is to first set a foundation of comfort, in a NON-FORMAL, environment. Second, build a professional bond becoming aware of clients' presenting issues and or challenges, then finding subjective tools that are client centered. Clients will quickly learn I'm here to support and encourage them in a less formal role than traditional counselors. I'm not a touchy- feely counselor but do approach my sessions with empathy.
