Helping driven people build a life that feels as good as it looks. I work with founders, executives, leaders, athletes, and other high-performing professionals who are used to carrying a lot. You can manage complex decisions all day, but one tense conversation with your partner sends your whole nervous system into overdrive. You can lead through pressure and still lie awake at 2:00 a.m. replaying what you said, what they meant, and whether you handled it wrong. You are the one everyone calls in a crisis, and the one wondering if you are failing at the things that actually matter.

I lived the full arc of athletic identity: the drive, the discipline, and the way sports become the answer to every question about who you are.
You're a competitor in every room — at work, on the field, at home — and it's starting to cost you. You love the people around you and lately you can't stand being around them. You're showing up for everyone else, and nobody's asking how you're doing. You don't want to punch a wall or cry every day, but here you are. You want to be present with your kids, but your mind is somewhere else entirely. You've handled tougher things than this. So why does this feel impossible? You want the life you know you deserve — and you're starting to wonder if it's still possible. You showed up here. That took something. Let's figure out the rest to

In addition to individual counseling, I provide specialized sports performance counseling that supports the mental, emotional, and overall well-being of the athlete.
Counseling for high achieving teens, young adults and athletes. You’re used to having high expectations, for yourself and from the people around you. You hold yourself to a high standard, and it’s not easy to turn that off. But I know that doesn’t always match how it feels. You might be dealing with constant pressure, anxiety that doesn’t really go away, or feeling stuck in your head. Body image, relationships, or family dynamics can make everything feel heavier, especially when you’re still trying to keep up. It’s exhausting. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to push through or have it all figured out.

Geeks, by traditional definition, are passionate about anthologies and characters from a variety of fictional, fantasy, and virtual formats that are sometimes niche or unpopular, creating feelings of relatedness towards avatar experiences in an often lonely life. . However, with the rise of popular media over the past several years, (e.g. Big Bang Theory, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Marvel’s Avengers, Anime, etc.) self-identification as a “geek” or “nerd” has become more mainstream. We practice this type of therapy and welcome you to come and grow through the practice of Geek Therapy

From the outside, you look like you're handling it. You show up, perform, meet expectations, maybe even exceed them. But underneath, something feels empty or deflated, like you're running on exhaustion that rest doesn't touch, chasing a bar that keeps moving, wondering why success doesn't feel like enough. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone, and you're not broken. You're likely carrying high-functioning burnout, and it often hides in plain sight precisely because you're so good at carrying it.

Hi, I’m Guy. I’m an LPC-S, LCDC, and trauma therapist with more than 15 years of experience in counseling, clinical supervision, and leadership. Much of my work has been shaped by one question: "Why can we know something needs to change and still feel unable to change it?" You may recognize the fear, relationship pattern, or way of coping that keeps repeating, yet understanding it has not been enough to change it. I work with adults and couples to uncover what is driving those patterns, particularly when trauma, anxiety, fear, relationship conflict, or addiction are part of the story

If there is one thing that I’ve learned in my more than fifteen years working as a therapist, it is that life can be rough no matter who you are. And sometimes rough in ways you never thought it could be. How do you handle those rough times? Have the ways you thought would fix the problems not worked or only led to more frustration? I work with individuals and couples feeling lost or unsure of what to do when they experience rough times. Having been through tough times in life myself, I love working with people to help them find the best ways for them to deal with whatever rough patch they may find themselves in.

Sports Performance Therapists
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
