I work with kids and adults 12 years and up, who are feeling stuck in life, struggling to find a way out of the repetitive cycle of anxiety, depression, hopelessness, malaise, and restlessness. You may have just about given up on finding relief and feel lost in who you are, not sure about who you want to be. You may be good at masking your pain, but you know the feeling of emptiness and stagnation deep inside. If you’re struggling with guilt, shame, regret, and distress and want a chance to rediscover yourself and find your joy, please reach out. I’d love the opportunity to walk on this journey with you.

I really love to work with people who find themselves at a place where something has to give....where staying the same is no longer an attractive option. It may feel like your relationship is stuck in a bad place, or that your family is spun out of control, or that you simply are not the best version of yourself. I work best with those who are ready to take a long honest look at the things that are hard to see..... those who are willing to be brave and learn how to create something different in their lives.

As a psychotherapist, I recognize life is a journey with many twists and turns. At some point, everyone encounters challenges that may feel overwhelming or difficult to navigate alone. Whether you’re feeling stuck, emotionally drained, weighed down by self-doubt, struggling with unhealthy coping patterns, or facing painful relationships, seeking support is a courageous first step toward healing. As human beings, we are wired for connection — and sometimes we need help processing the personal, relational, racial, or sexual stressors that come with the human experience. I am here to walk alongside you as you find your way forward.

Life has a way of shifting beneath our feet, sometimes slowly, sometimes all at once. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, heartbroken, or confused about how to move forward. Is anxiety running the show? Does grief feel heavier than you expected? Or do you feel left trying to make sense of everything? Whatever brought you here, your experience matters. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand themselves, build resilience, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. Therapy is a space where you can feel heard, reconnect with your strengths, explore patterns, shift unhelpful perspectives and grow.

Oppositional Defiance (ODD) Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for oppositional defiant disorder?
The treatment of Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) will involve multiple approaches designed to help both the youngster and their parents, sometimes including medication. A therapist will help a child learn ways to regulate their emotions, curb their impulsiveness, and counteract anger, defiance, and disruption, while showing parents ways to bring these lessons into their home. A technique designed for children with conditions like ODD, known as Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS), may also be used. CPS addresses a child’s concerns and rewards appropriate responses while discouraging harsh punishment or criticism.

How does treatment for oppositional defiant disorder work?
Treatment for ODD addresses the issues underlying a child’s defiance and disruption, the emotional regulation and impulse-control skills they lack, and the way adults respond to them. ODD therapy is based on the idea that children with the disorder understand the difference between right and wrong, that they want to behave well, and that, with help, they can. By responding to the child with empathy instead of harsh criticism, ignoring nonviolent behaviors, and rewarding positive actions, a therapist, and the other adults in a child’s life, can help children improve their behavior.

How long does therapy for oppositional defiant disorder take?
Therapy for oppositional defiant disorder is not a short-term undertaking. Depending on the severity of a child’s symptoms, their age, the presence of other conditions like ADHD, anxiety or a mood disorder, and their family dynamic, it can take months before improvement is noted. The cooperation of parents and teachers is crucial, because the skills learned in therapy must be practiced in real-world situations, with all their potential triggers.

Does oppositional defiant disorder go away?
ODD can remit following treatment. ODD is often diagnosed in nursery school, and early intervention is essential for a positive prognosis. In two-thirds of children, according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, symptoms resolve within three years.
