I provide therapy to individuals,
couples
, and groups as we work together to free ourselves from the struggles and suffering that keep us from living our life to the fullest. At times our lives can feel unmanageable. Trauma, depression, anxiety,
relationship
problems, unhealthy cycles, addictions, and other areas of our mental health can keep us stuck and unable to move forward freely. We start to lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel of our suffering. I am here to walk alongside you as we move toward that light. Through counseling, these issues can be addressed and freedom is possible as we work together!

I am passionate about helping women treat anxiety, moms develop self-care routines, and empowering
couples
to increase their intimate connection and spark.
As we navigate through the roller coaster of life and the complexities that relationships can bring, we will not walk away unaffected. I strongly believe that “silence kills,” and facing our issues by talking about them, is the only way to resolve them. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, my goal is to encourage and support individuals,
couples
, adolescents and families to increase personal awareness, strengths, and connection with others. Together, we will unravel the knots in your soul and the splinters in your mind.

My approach centers upon building an honest and trusting
relationship
without judgment in order for you to begin healing and exploration. I use a variety of therapy techniques while providing emotional support to you and helping you to observe your thoughts and how they influence your daily life in your relationships, decisions, and moods. I believe successful results are built upon the strength of the
relationship
between the therapist and the individual, as well as your own willingness to be open about your feelings and receiving help. I feel that positive and negative experiences present opportunities for learning and growth.

Our mission is to help individuals, families, and groups explore the issues keeping them from a satisfying and fulfilling life. FWCAI's clinically trained therapists offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, seeking the best solution for each client. We offer an integrated approach to counseling, using a biblical worldview and our skills and experience to offer counseling from a Christian perspective, although we also use traditional and cutting edge therapeutic approaches and integrate them into our practice where helpful. Not every client shares our worldview, and this integrated approach allows us to serve clients not seeking distinctly Christian counseling.

In this life, we face so many unprecedented events that can make us feel like we cannot catch a breath. There is no perfect
relationship
but there are Healthy ones! Healthy persons who pursue a balance of boundaries, expectations, and communication get there with a lot of work and intentionality. We are all individuals apart of bigger systems and those systems affect the way we respond, how we manage conflict, and how we feel about ourselves. This complicated jumble of tasks and emotions can feel overwhelming at times.

using a “here and now” approach. I conduct therapy around this truth. The past has already happened and I cannot change it other than to reflect on it in order to bring change through awareness. The future has not happened yet and I have limited control. What I can control are the choices I make currently that can lead to the desired outcome. By focusing on the “here and now” we create awareness, taking control of our own life. Teamwork leads to desired goals

Each day presents new challenges for accomplishing tasks you used to perform with ease. When you picture your future, you feel terrified and uncertain. You want a therapist who understands how to help you move forward with confidence. I am your person. We all have a unique story that can influence the
relationship
we have with ourselves and others. You may have experienced situations that left you feeling worried, stressed or overwhelmed. Those experiences may try to interfere with you mentally, emotionally and leave you to question yourself and your abilities. Sometimes, you may be trying to juggle it all and have difficulty managing stress, work and family life. If you can relate to any of these experiences you are not alone. I believe that despite life's challenges, you have inner strengths and abilities that can help you reconnect with yourself and move through difficulties.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
