I offer a professional counseling relationship where you will learn counseling and therapy skills, rooted in the Bible, to bring about change.
Christian counseling engages your story without judgment, and helps change how you see yourself, others, God, and life experiences. This takes time. I would love to walk alongside you. My experience ranges from residential treatment, church counseling ministry, and private practice. I have also taught counseling in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi through the Association of Biblical Counselors where I served as Director of Equip the Nations. I have developed a successful curriculum on Pornography addiction called the "5 Ways Out". I have also created and counselled a curriculum called, "Helper Lover", for marriage counseling.

" You may recognize the fear, relationship pattern, or way of coping that keeps repeating, yet understanding it has not been enough to change it.
I work with adults and couples whose trauma, fear, shame, resentment, or addiction still shapes the present. These patterns may appear as panic, OCD, disconnection, conflict, or coping that no longer serves them. I integrate EMDR, Schema Therapy, Coherence Therapy, and Rapid Resolution Therapy to support deeper, lasting change.

I work with teens (13+), individuals, and couples through a biopsychosocial lens that integrates emotional, relational, and biological health.
I place a strong emphasis on the power of narrative—the words we use, both consciously and unconsciously, and how they shape our experience and influence our nervous system. By exploring the ways our bodies and minds have adapted to protect us, I help clients build greater understanding, compassion, and resilience.

Whether you're navigating grief, anxiety, a difficult relationship, a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.
My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have all the answers. Together, we'll explore what's weighing on you, identify what's helping (and what isn't), and build toward the life you want to create.

I'd be honored to offer you a place of support, a genuinely connected relationship, and my expertise (in nerdy stuff like neuroscience and the cognitive process) to help defeat whatever is standing between you & the life you deserve.
I specialize in anxiety/stress-related challenges: Anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD, life transitions, trauma, relationship difficulties, and sociocultural experiences. My PhD is in International Psychology (with a trauma focus) and I study neuroscience for fun, so if medications or other therapy hasn't worked for you, maybe my approach can help.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
