During the sessions, I will
partner
with you as we work through your healing journey.
In this life, we face so many unprecedented events that can make us feel like we cannot catch a breath. No matter how young or old one may be, it can be quite challenging to build resiliency and sustain hope as you persevere through your life's journey. My goal is to help shift your perspective through genuine connection, so you can overcome whatever battle you are facing. I whole-heartedly believe there is no depression, anxiety, trauma, life-change, or addiction that cannot be controlled and re-directed. We all have a purpose that is much greater than our pain, and we all have the power to shift the trajectory in our lives.

I believe through a nurturing, positive
relationship
, we can explore root causes of depression, anxiety, and life dissatisfaction. Through this process, we can begin to re-shape the self to feel confident, peaceful, and hopeful. Change comes out of conflict, and healing begins when we feel safe. We will cultivate a space where you feel safe to explore your internal and external conflicts, and together we will move toward change.

I use a trauma-informed approach and I incorporate methods from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and emotion-focused
couples
’ therapy to help individuals, families, and
couples
heal and grow stronger.
Whether a child, adolescent, or adult, we all need a place to feel cared for and accepted. I believe that there is hope for all of us to heal and to grow. I love to help families build strong relationships through family therapy,
couples
therapy, or parenting education. I utilize play-based therapy with children to help them heal from trauma, build healthy coping skills, and strengthen the parent-child bond, with the hope that this will build a strong foundation for their future health. For adults, whether dealing with trauma, challenging situations, or feelings you can't explain, I will help you work through it to find healing.

Counseling is more than my profession, it is my life's calling. My greatest passion lies in working with individuals,
couples
, and families who are ready to build towards new awareness, skills and habits for themselves and the quality of their relationships. Learning how to communicate in such a way that will leave you feeling heard, understood and that will lead to lasting change is often the focus of our work together. The first step we will take is defining a clear and rich picture of the life you've always dreamed of - the life that is just on the other side of your current problem.

I help people develop self-awareness, healthy boundaries, and assertive communication. Quality of relationships and quality of life are strongly correlated. The most important
relationship
is the one you have with yourself. If you find that your relationships are suffering, you might be unconsciously holding onto faulty old beliefs about yourself. The first step is awareness, and the next step is challenging those unhelpful beliefs. The final step is developing new beliefs and affirming yourself daily.

For a therapist and client's
relationship
to grow, we must be genuine with one another.
I learned an invaluable lesson from one of my educators, he told me "no one has the right to minimize your feelings. To one person, failing their algebra test might be the worst day of their lives, to another it might be losing their grandfather. No matter what others may say or think, no one has the authority to tell you how you should feel." These are the words I live by and bring into every session. I lend an empathetic ear to those whose voices and feelings are neglected.

Everyone has some sort of baggage, pain, or issues that can make them feel stuck in life. I get it and have been there myself at times. So instead of coming at you with every therapeutic technique or skill in the book, I promise to first be with you, and present where you’re at. I won’t rush you but instead, will help you within your own timeframe. The therapeutic
relationship
is the most important part of therapy. So before you signup and complete paperwork, I want to give you the opportunity to see if we’re the right fit for each other. That’s why I offer a free 20 min consultation. Let’s see if there is a good connection.

John Donne famously stated that "No Man is an Island." We all exist in
relationship
... but our relationships often become the sources of our greatest stress and pain in life. As a Marriage and Family Therapist I seek to bring hope, healing, change, and growth in the intimacy struggles that individuals,
couples
, and families face. If you find yourself unable to establish healthy intimacy as an individual,as a couple, as a family then I look forward to knowing how I can help you face this struggle and develop deep, meaningful relationships.

Hi! My name is Natalie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I have been providing counseling to small children all the way up to geriatric individuals for a little over 6 years now. I am only providing telehealth therapy at this time, and I do not offer
couples
' counseling. My view of therapy is that each individual knows what's best for their own life; they just need someone to guide them to whatever that solution or truth is. That's where I come in! I am an expert in mental health, but you are the expert in YOU.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
