What if your exhaustion isn't from doing too much, but from carrying what was never yours? What if your nervous system learned survival before it learned rest? Are you the dependable one—the helper, caregiver, achiever, or peacekeeper—silently managing stress, anxiety, grief, guilt, or burnout? Many of my clients learned early that love and worth came through responsibility, sacrifice, loyalty, or achievement. They carry invisible legacy roles into relationships, leadership, and caregiving. Guilt shows up when you outgrow expectations. Sometimes grief isn’t just about loss it’s the quiet mourning of the needs that went unmet.

I utilize trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches like Brainspotting, Somatic Processing and TFCBT, because I want to get to the why behind what you are feeling, not just manage the symptoms.
I specialize in deep hurts and trauma — and that can look like a lot of things. The way you grew up. A belief you used to hold onto. A relationship with a person or a group that left a mark. A specific moment that hurt you and never quite healed. Here's the truth: the things we find hardest to talk about are usually exactly the things we need to talk about.

Experiencing hurdles in life such as challenging relationships, family life issues and concerns about the direction of your career are normal, but can leave you feeling anxious, depressed, frustrated or angry. So many of our problems come down to not having enough insight into how our minds work; what we want, what we fear, why we act the way we do, and why we are overwhelmed by certain feelings. I believe that every person who seeks counseling has their own answers to their unique situations and my job is to facilitate finding those answers.

As a Black Female Therapist, I bring my intersecting identities into this work with care and purpose, centering Black women and those who serve our communities (i.e. helping professionals, ministry workers, community leaders) and need deeper support. Many come feeling overwhelmed by racial and gender-based stress, trauma, burnout, and the weight of constantly showing up for others. They are often seeking a space where they can finally exhale and be cared for. Through a trauma-informed, culturally grounded approach, I support them in processing their experiences, strengthening boundaries and reconnecting with themselves.

You are worth knowing, deeply and fully. There is SPACE for you. You have a purpose, and there is a reason you’re here. But you may be struggling to see your value and purpose right now. You might feel like you’ve tried everything, sought wise counsel, read all the books, and are at the end of your rope.

I specialize in substance abuse, Brainspotting, existential concerns and religious trauma, disordered eating, LGBTQ+ care, and mindfulness-based work.
I believe counseling & therapy should be a space where you can show up as you are, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. I work with people who want to better understand themselves and create change that actually lasts. This looks like exploring patterns in your relationship with substances, food, or your body, or making sense of deeper questions around identity, meaning, and spirituality—including past religious experiences. I bring a mind-body perspective to build awareness and tools that fit you. I’m simply another human sitting with you, offering curiosity and a steady presence.

As a therapist, I focus on facilitating a space of comfort and safety for individuals facing marginalization, oppression, racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, religious trauma, and attachment related issues. Trauma can result from many different lived experiences though commonly misunderstood as solely a result of war, violence, accidents, etc. It can show up in your life in various ways such as anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, feeling stuck/unmotivated, dissociation, shame, relational issues, etc. It can be overwhelming and exhausting to feel like you’ve tried so hard to heal and still feel like something is missing.

Are you having trouble regulating your emotions, unable to set your own boundaries or respect other people’s boundaries? Do you find yourself often saying yes when really, you want to say no? Do you expect things to go your way, and fall apart when it doesn’t? Do you find yourself in relationships with the same person but with a different name? It’s a pattern. Your childhood may be the cause of today’s behavior patterns and contribute to emotional dysregulation which could include feeling helpless, frustrated, and trapped.

I have advanced training in family systems, the Gottman Method, and Brainspotting, working at the intersection of relationships and the parts of life that never came with a manual.
Healing doesn't have to be polished to be powerful. Things may seem dark. If you're feeling broken or like your relationships are beyond repair, you're not alone, and you don't have to figure this out on your own. Many of the people I work with feel like they are carrying too much- grief, trauma, emotional responsibility, or the weight of having to hold it all together. They've spent years adapting to relationships that didn't work, and they are ready to try something different. I help clients navigate their darkest moments, providing tools to rebuild their lives and relationships and find a way forward.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
