AEDP Therapists in Fort Worth, TX
You keep trying, but nothing changes. You have this underlying anger and a short fuse. You put on a happy face, portray a perfect life, yet others have no idea that you really feel unworthy and inferior. The ways you are coping with these feelings still leave you empty and are now creating more problems. You are on the verge of losing control of everything. No one knows the hurt and trauma of your past. You were taught to "buck up" and deal with it. If you did talk about it, you would be rejected and left feeling shame again. You feel like there is no hope and this is your last chance.

I am a Certified AEDP Therapist with advanced training in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EFT for couples, and interpersonal neurobiology.
If you understand your history but still feel triggered, numb, or stuck in the same relationship patterns, trauma may still be living in your nervous system.
I work with adults and couples impacted by complex trauma, developmental wounds, and attachment injuries. Many of my clients are highly capable in their lives yet privately struggle with anxiety, emotional numbness, or relationship triggers despite insight into their past.
Trauma lives in the nervous system, not just in memory. My work focuses on helping the body gradually release these patterns so emotions, relationships, and daily life can feel more settled and connected.

Somewhere along the way you were handed a rule about eating the right thing, and nobody ever explained what the right thing actually was, so you've been guessing ever since. The guessing runs underneath everything now, a quiet calculation about how it will register on your body and how you'll be looked at. If being seen is part of your work, it never switches off, and there's a shame in it you've never said out loud. It's beyond frustrating that something that should just be nourishing can be so complicated. And the thoughts are always there, which is why you've started wondering what you'd have room to think about if they weren't.

" Using AEDP, my work focuses on relational safety, attachment patterns, and here-and-now emotional processing that helps you connect with what you truly need.
Many of my clients are perfectionists, doers, care-takers, hard-workers, or achievers. They readily see the needs of others but do not always slow down for their own needs. This may exhibit as symptoms of anxiety, overwhelm, rage, depression, or numbness. While many may have high emotional intelligence, they do not know how to experience their emotions fully. I find that people do not need my advice. They need my presence. I help create a safe environment where we can gently meet whatever emotion is coming and undo any shame around feeling together.

By facing the shadows of your past and present, you can strip them of their power. This isn’t an overnight fix, but it is the start of your journey toward freedom and empowerment. AEDP Therapists
Who is AEDP therapy for?
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.
Why do people need AEDP?
People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.
What happens in AEDP therapy?
Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.
What problems does AEDP treat?
AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
