I have experience working with clients who want to process anxiety, depression, religious trauma, sexual stress, peer relationships, and family/marital issues.
I believe that therapy is most helpful when it functions as a safe space for clients to come exactly as they are. In all my work, I am passionate about creating a welcoming space that fosters compassion, authenticity, openness—and hopefully joy. My goal is to support my client as they find their own unique path towards healing, because I believe no one should walk through their struggles alone.

I am in network with most insurance providers, including Aetna Silver Plan offered through Affordable Care Act.
If you’re here, you might be going through something difficult, and I want you to know you don’t have to face it alone. I'm dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of life (adulting, relationships or parenting). Whether that be feeling disconnected from yourself, going through the motions (of daily life or relationships) and wondering what engagement in life would feel like. If traditional therapy has not worked to improve trauma, you may benefit from gaining an awareness of your body's sensations & expanding your ability to hold the emotions that arise.

As humans, we are familiar with how unpredictable life can be. Facing uncertainty and what we hide can feel scary, yet feeling stuck can be just as painful. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others, unsure where to begin, or judging your emotions and story rather than understanding. I help clients identify and process their emotions so they can experience relief in a space that is safe, authentic, supportive, and nonjudgmental. Together, we will meet your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with compassion.

We live in a world where we are expected to do it all, perfectly, and without struggling. We are constantly comparing ourselves to others and we declare ourselves "not good enough." These feelings tend to dictate our response to those around us, so that we are really just reacting to what is going on behind the scenes without even realizing it. I believe that a lot of the issues that present on the surface -- family issues, addiction, depression, and anxiety -- can be treated by focusing on overcoming shame, negative self-talk, and trauma. If this can be done, then the chances of improving your quality of life increases.

It’s exhausting to feel like you have to hold it all together all the time, and still wonder why it doesn’t feel easier.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re used to being the one who handles things on your own. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or not quite like yourself lately, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
I am passionate about working with those who are navigating anxiety, overthinking, relationship stress, and the pressure to be “fine” even when things feel heavy. In our sessions, you don’t have to filter yourself or worry about saying the “right” thing.

Is your Google Search Bar all too familiar with the searches, “Do I need counseling” or “Symptoms of depression/anxiety”? You know something is off but aren’t sure exactly what it is. Asking for help, saying no, and talking about the tough stuff tend to be at the top of your "No thanks" list, but you know deep down that thing (or several things) from your past keeps creeping up more and more often. Maybe you’ve noticed that your relationships are starting to feel like cycles, or your self-worth is running low. You’re wanting to feel confident, achieve goals, and get out of the funk that some emotions seem to put you in.

I enjoy helping my clients empower themselves to live the lives they wish to live, develop self-compassion, & embrace peace, through "talk therapy" and brainspotting. I believe many stressful behaviors (e.g., isolation, eating disorders) begin as a way to cope, when we feel we have little control. Even if certain behaviors are now causing you distress, it is amazing that you empowered yourself to manage times in your life when you didn't know how else manage. Now, we can figure out new strategies that not only allow you to survive, but to thrive, in a way that allows you to feel peaceful & free.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
