Trauma and impactful experiences can be barriers getting in the way of accessing or utilizing these solutions.
I operate from an attachment theory lens most commonly using EMDR, which is one of the most flexible and innovative ways of dealing with trauma, by utilizing biological processes your body already uses to heal experiences that may create distress. I have had success treating everything from being exposed to violent deaths, assaults and a variety of abuse.

If you're facing challenges like trauma, depression, anxiety, sleep issues, ADHD, or a brain injury.
I focus on mental health rather than mental illness, helping everyone gain clarity to overcome obstacles. I believe in "success through clear vision and positive change," freeing you to identify concrete steps to overcome past difficulties.

Maybe you've faced a lot of rejection, loneliness, and trauma because of your commitment to shining your light.
The parts of you that have faced the greatest rejection and gotten locked away are often the parts of you that hold the keys to the success you're after. I work with clients to reconnect all the parts of themselves so they can live free, healed, whole lives, walking in their purpose.

Things like fear, depression, emotional pain, trauma, panic, betrayal, loss, confusion, and hopelessness.
I really love to work with people who find themselves at a place where something has to give....where staying the same is no longer an attractive option. It may feel like your relationship is stuck in a bad place, or that your family is spun out of control, or that you simply are not the best version of yourself. I work best with those who are ready to take a long honest look at the things that are hard to see..... those who are willing to be brave and learn how to create something different in their lives.

While I work with a wide variety of clients, I specialize in folks with a history of trauma, those who have experienced intimate partner violence, and sexual assault.
Prioritizing yourself, and your wellness can be difficult, especially in our turbulent and polarized world. I would be honored to help you create a safe space where you can completely be yourself, and accepted for who that is. I am always amazed at the resilience and potential each of my clients have, and I would love to help you tap into that. I believe that an authentic relationship between the counselor and client is really important for change, and I know I am not always the right fit for all clients, so if I'm not your cup of tea, I will help you find the counselor that is! I also provide PCLC supervision under my practice.

I use a variety of interventions, such as IFS therapy, ACT, ERP and EMDR therapy, that are attachment based and trauma responsive.
Do you feel trapped in constant overthinking, intrusive thoughts, or endless "what if" scenarios? Your brain may be stuck in unhelpful patterns, reacting to past experiences as if they’re still happening. Together, we can help your mind process these experiences in a new way—reducing emotional intensity, strengthening resilience, and creating space for healing. Whether it’s navigating anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or the weight of inner conflict, I see you—and you’re not alone.

I have worked with parents in marital conflict and worked also with individuals on issues that ranged from adjustment disorders to post-traumatic stress disorder.
I enjoy working with people to help them build a strong sense of self, to encourage their confidence in relationships, and to help foster a sense of calm and security in their everyday life. I enjoy helping parents navigate the many challenges that come our way. I believe people seek therapy for many reasons: adjustment to a new city or life situation, feeling overwhelmed or stuck, or problems with relationships. Counseling is a process and that most of us could benefit from time to time at different stages in life, as it brings an outsiders perspective to events, we are faced with in day to day life in a nonjudgmental way.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
