Some of those stressors include addiction, depression, anxiety, destructive behaviors, parenting issues, stress management, relationship issues, building self esteem, and grief and loss.
I believe in helping others change self defeating thoughts and destructive behavioral patterns, in order to aid them in living a life in which they can find happiness. Making changes to improve your life can be difficult but very rewarding. I have a collaborative approach to change and I consider it a privilege to collaborate with people as they make those changes, and to help them navigate through the many challenges of life. It is my honor to empowering others, and helping them to identify their strengths. I am a military veteran familiar with military culture and the common struggles that come with a military commitment.

Things like fear, depression, emotional pain, trauma, panic, betrayal, loss, confusion, and hopelessness.
I really love to work with people who find themselves at a place where something has to give....where staying the same is no longer an attractive option. It may feel like your relationship is stuck in a bad place, or that your family is spun out of control, or that you simply are not the best version of yourself. I work best with those who are ready to take a long honest look at the things that are hard to see..... those who are willing to be brave and learn how to create something different in their lives.

My clients face challenges of depression, anxiety, perfectionism, neurodivergence, identity, career, dating and relationships, grief/ loss, addiction, trauma, or questions of self-worth.
At times, the existential trek is painfully taxing, even intolerable, yet also fertile terrain for unearthing our boundless capacity. Here, therapy serves as an avenue to a more agentic, authentic, self-honoring narrative. Unflinchingly committed to and invested in my clients' growth, I strive to foster an affirming, trusting relationship in which we gently excavate your sources of unrest and facilitate deeper awareness, integration, and action. I relish working with anyone who finds their needs and desires at odds with cultural scripts or societal expectations and may struggle for harmony inside an inherently paradoxical existence.

Prioritizing yourself, and your wellness can be difficult, especially in our turbulent and polarized world. I would be honored to help you create a safe space where you can completely be yourself, and accepted for who that is. I am always amazed at the resilience and potential each of my clients have, and I would love to help you tap into that. I believe that an authentic relationship between the counselor and client is really important for change, and I know I am not always the right fit for all clients, so if I'm not your cup of tea, I will help you find the counselor that is! I also provide PCLC supervision under my practice.

I empower my clients to realize their optimum self through growth and discovery of their strengths and innate qualities. I believe that to be successful in our lives, we need to notice what works for us and transfer that insight into the areas that we would like to better. I often combine the use of solution-focused brief therapy (SFT) with narrative therapy since it helps in writing a better future for ourselves and creating hope for tomorrow. We decide our path and take the steps towards our new future. My clients are multidimensional and range in age.

Online counseling for grief and maternal mental health.
For over a decade, I've supported grieving adults and families as they navigate life after loss. After having kids of my own, my passion was also sparked for helping new parents feel calm, confident, and capable, and find moments of joy in parenting. I am particularly enthusiastic about working with parents of multiples, being a twin mom myself.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
