I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ( EMDR ) to support those who have gone through traumatic experiences.
My purpose is to help people who struggle with negative self-beliefs live a life they are proud of. Going through traumatic experiences can affect every aspect of one’s present life and lead to unhealthy life choices. The things that helped us get through and survive hard moments in our past can be the very things holding us back from living the life that we want now.

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR ) as well as Trauma-Sensitive Yoga.
I love working with children, adolescents and adults who know a better life is possible, but lack the tools, self-esteem and/or support needed to overcome old patterns and create a new way of being. The kids I support in the playroom often struggle to communicate, manage their behavior, exhibit confidence, problem solve and positively relate to others. Adolescents and adults I serve may have experienced harmful relationships, traumatic events, or notice difficulties feeling comfortable in their own skin. It would be an honor to accompany you on life's journey of ups and downs as you heal the past and work toward a brighter future.

I specialize in trauma and am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist.
As human beings, we all experience stressors throughout our lives and some of us endure traumatic experiences, which can lead us to feel hopeless and broken at times. Even in our darkest hours we have unique strengths that can be temporarily lost within the storm. We all have the choice and power within to find healing and to ultimately change ourselves and our situation in the process. When we cannot find the answers in the world around us, it is time to look within.

I am a trauma focused therapist, EMDR trained and with specialization in combat and first responder occupational trauma, as well as moral injury.
Hello and thank you for stopping by. When we say trauma, our go to is typically one event that has left us with symptoms of post traumatic stress. However, accumulated life cycle and emotional traumas can have significant impact to our function as well. These are the events that test our resilience and our emotional survival on a daily basis. Over time, it can feel as though “it” has changed us in a way we struggle to articulate. Sometimes we lay awake at night wondering how can we ever get back to normal. Sound familiar? I am here to help.

I use effective methods, such as EMDR and CBT, to assist with limiting the pain that often accompanies healing.
Talking to a stranger, or anyone for that matter, about what's going on can be terrifying, am I right? When the process involves an honest conversation about your symptoms, personal struggles, grief/loss, trauma, anxiety, burnout, family problems, and abuse/addiction or other "shameful" secrets, it can keep anyone from seeking help. You may have been taught to not air family secrets or that emotions are dramatic or useless, especially the most complicated of all- grief. Nobody gets to escape grief in this process or in life. Struggling with feelings or asking for help to heal doesn't make you weak. You weren’t taught how to do this.

I have also received advanced training in EMDR , a method of treatment for reducing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
My approach to counseling is one of respect and show of sincerity to the individuals I meet. Among the many positive feed backs I've received is the non-judgmental, warm atmosphere I offer to allow for sharing thoughts and feelings from where we can begin the healing process. I respect cultural differences and value them as an important aspect of my clinical practice. I take special interest in relationship, trauma, and multicultural issues. I do thorough assessments and accompany you through your struggles in life. I take an active role in the sessions with questions and suggestions.

I include Mindfulness and Meditation, EMDR , Racial Trauma Therapy, and Art Therapy to help you find your "more".
Entrepreneurs, leaders, and creative individuals often struggle with self-esteem and career issues. The experience of depression, anxiety, trauma, or significant life transitions can interfere with your overall well-being. We go through life feeling there must be more; more to our potential, our relationships… just more. To address these concerns we have to look at our own investment in ourselves and our process of growth.

My journey in counseling is to help persons surviving trauma in their lives. You may be a Veteran, a Responder, or a related family/loved one/friend. You may also be a survivor of child abuse.. Trauma occurs due to many reasons such as our occupation, abusive past, or it may be a single incident that has occurred ex: vehicle accident, witnessing a violent incident where somebody else was hurt/killed or other extremely upsetting event in life. If you read the above and something sounds familiar or similar and your life is negatively impacted, assisting YOU is my passion and mission.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
