My approach is integrative, pulling from Narrative and Psychodynamic depth to understand your past, while using CBT and Strength-Based tools for your present.
You look capable on the outside, but inside, you're running constant damage control. Your shoulders stay tense, your jaw clenches, and your mind is always scanning for what could go wrong. Even when the day ends, you can't seem to turn off. As a high-achieving or highly sensitive (HSP) woman or teen girl, you may feel like you are constantly bracing against the world. Moving from survival to internal safety requires more than just managing symptoms; it requires understanding the story your body is telling. I help clients across the Lone Star State finally feel safe in their own skin.

Adulting is hard. Being a kid is hard. Being human is hard. Having access to all of the world all of the time is hard. It’s overwhelming and everyone has an opinion. And sometimes it can just become too much. Every stage of life comes with what seems like insurmountable obstacles. This day and age with the seeming constant comparison to a perfect social media life can leave one feeling impossibly more than less than. Sometimes we just need a little help. A place to sit with our reality without the judgement or the press to have it all.

I believe that our past experiences shape how we think about things. If we heal old wounds, we improve our chances to feel more successful in all areas of life. I believe the ability to learn is a necessary tool for all individuals to maintain throughout life; whether you are a student in school or the CEO of a global corporation, it is essential to continue learning about yourself. When we have a solid understanding of why we think, act, and feel the way we do, then we set ourselves up to improve our relationships, especially the one with ourselves.

You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally shut down, even when you’re trying your hardest to hold everything together. You might feel like you’ve been living in survival mode for far too long—on edge, disconnected, depressed, or numb. The good news is that there is a path toward feeling more regulated, present, and alive - and you don't have to walk it by yourself. I'm Becki, and I help adults gently reconnect with their bodies so they can release long-held tension, regulate their nervous systems, and heal emotional patterns that have kept them stuck. My approach is somatic, experiential, and trauma informed.

Many people reach out because they’re tired of carrying the weight of past experiences or feeling unsure how to support their child. Parents usually want practical guidance when their child is struggling emotionally or behaviorally. Together, we create a supportive space where you can gain clarity, build on your strengths, and move forward with more confidence and ease.

You're a giver - but don't know how to receive. And you're very self-sufficient and independent because you can't trust or rely on anyone. On the surface you seem like you're doing well - you have a job, a relationship, you go on trips and so on. But underneath it all, you struggle with an inner critic that belittle you constantly. You struggle with the pressure to be "perfect" and "good" and never feel like you're good enough. Your relationships actually don't feel very fulfilling because you don't feel like you're being your true self in it. At the end of the day, you feel lonely and you chalk it up to "well that's how life is."

A therapist can be helpful in times of transition, or when it is time to put some deep thought into why you may be feeling stuck, in a bad relationship or depressed. Our world is a complicated place with external influences adding confusion to our choices. We may invest a great deal of time and money in many things, but we neglect our inner world. Yet our inner world affects all of our decision making. Therapy can help us discover our true, often neglected selves. I offer both psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I am a graduate of the Dallas Psychoanalytic Center, Psychoanalytic training. I have additional training in alcoholism.

Trying to understand what life is about can be confusing and challenging. Sometimes, right when you begin to understand life, boom! Life throws another curve ball your direction. Those curve balls can really hinder you from fully enjoying your life. Seeking guidance can help you gain strength and learn new strategies for tackling such situations. I strongly believe that each person on this planet is looking for a safe place to feel comfortable exploring their true self. I would love to provide that space and help you on your journey.

In a hectic and unpredictable world, finding space to pause and submerge into one’s inner existence is a rarity. It can be difficult to allow ourselves this space until happenstances like grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and burnout pull the rug out from under us. All living things on this planet, humans included, are conditioned by their environment and genetics. Years of our life are spent implicitly being influenced by others and life experiences. Processing through how these influences and experiences have impacted us explicitly bring them to awareness.

Are you overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you? Women often carry the weight of expectations, relationships, and life transitions while quietly struggling to care for themselves. I use a relational & attachment-informed perspective, recognizing that experiences in relationships—past and present—shape how you see yourself, connect with others, and navigate the world. Therapy is a collaborative space to explore emotions, relationships, and identity with compassion and curiosity. Together, we build insight and develop tools that support healthier connections and a more grounded, authentic life.

As a therapist in Dallas, it is my mission to help you connect with yourself and others in meaningful ways. You may feel like you can’t be fully yourself or you may not be sure you know who you are anymore. Maybe you're trapped in the expectations others have of you, or stuck in negative cycles. My clients come to me when they feel confused and disconnected, and I help them reconnect with emotions, understand themselves, and work towards the courage they need to live an authentic and empowered life.

I have a deep respect for the courage it takes to begin therapy, and I strive to meet each patient with empathy, understanding, and a willingness to explore what truly matters to them. I seek to align theory with the needs of my patients. This often means that I may draw from tenets of a number of types of therapy for a productive experience for my patients. An example would be to blend a person-centered approach in encouraging ownership combined with more directive techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy.

People are my favorite part of what I do! For over 20 years, I've worked in roles centered around helping and caring for others, and that continues to bring me so much joy. In the last three years, I've focused on doing therapy to walk with clients through their healing and growth. I'd be honored to walk with you on your journey, too.

As a trauma therapist with comprehensive training from The Family Institute at Northwestern University and a background in mind-body science, I help clients who seek meaningful change, in both brief/intensive treatment and/or ongoing therapy. EMDR Intensives are for those ready to move beyond distressing experiences. These longer (but fewer) sessions allow for highly concentrated treatment. Participants report increased emotional tolerance and that this focused work has allowed them to experience progress and relief sooner and more efficiently.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
