I specialize in counseling grief and loss from a unique experiential perspective, as I was widowed in my late thirties. This was my underlying motivation to return to graduate school in my early fifties to enter the counseling profession. I have a passion to help others through loss in the same way that I was helped. I also specialize in counseling for substance abuse and its effects on individuals and their loved ones, using both Twelve Step and cognitive behavioral approaches.

We all face difficult and confusing times. My goal is to assist clients in a confidential and compassionate environment by providing therapy services in the home. My specialties include issues of aging, grief and bereavement , chronic illness, and life transitions. I spent many years working as a hospice social worker. It was a natural transition to have a practice that comes to the client', hopefully with dignity and humor. I have a passion for senior issues and learn from my clients daily.

I was born and raised in Texas. I love the Texas Summer nights and Autumn days. I grew up in a blended family of my mother, grandparents, biological brother, and many foster brothers and sisters. Let's just say things were always interesting, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Those experiences helped shape who I am and gave me insight into a variety of people.
