I am passionate about working with people surrounding codependency, trauma, and attachment wounds from a heart-centered lens.
You're feeling stuck. You're finding yourself feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from life, others, and maybe yourself. You feel uncertain of your thoughts, wants, needs or what to do. Trauma can leave us feeling hopeless, exhausted, and alone. It can make us shut the world out, or put other's needs before our own in hope for solace. At times it can feel like change isn't possible, or if we just ignore it long enough it will resolve itself.

You’ve probably thought about this a lot. Tried to understand your patterns, communicate better, do your part. And still, something keeps repeating. You overthink, overgive, shut down—or stay in things that don’t fully feel right. Something feels off—and it’s not just the relationship. There’s something in between you and your life. I work with individuals and couples who are ready to see what’s been shaping these patterns—and learn how to stop losing themselves and start making choices that actually feel true.

If you grew up walking on eggshells, questioning your reality, putting everyone else's needs first, or carrying shame that doesn't feel like it belongs to you, you're not alone. Childhood abuse, sexual trauma, and high-control environments can leave lasting effects long after the danger has passed, shaping how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. I specialize in helping survivors understand and heal the patterns trauma created. Using approaches such as EMDR, IFS-informed therapy, somatic interventions, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I help clients move beyond survival mode.

I specialize in helping people heal from developmental trauma, relational issues, parent/adult children conflict, codependency and people pleasing and religious trauma.
Imagine feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break—whether in relationships, work, or self-worth. My ideal client is someone who’s ready to explore how their past impacts their present, particularly those who’ve experienced developmental trauma or childhood wounds. You might be struggling with anxiety, trust issues, or low self-esteem, and you're looking for deeper healing and a way forward that feels authentic. You’re motivated to understand yourself better and break free from generational cycles to create healthier relationships. My strengths work well with clients who were the truth-tellers in their families. Like the boy in “The Emperor Has No Clothes,” you probably experienced a lot of blowback for pointing out the obvious and uncomfortable. Maybe you came to doubt your own experience and wisdom. Over time you may have lost touch with those gifts, resulting in understandable confusion and coping skills that just aren't working anymore (symptoms). You came in this world authentically yourself, let's go find them! I offer a free 15 minute consultation so you can feel comfortable before making your first appointment.

So you’ve recently decided to get sober, or maybe you’re seriously considering it. But somehow, saying goodbye to drinking has not fixed your life. The alcohol is gone, but having the same fight over and over again with your partner? Still happening and somehow, you feel even more disconnected. Yes, sobriety has helped you become more aware of your emotions, but… how are you supposed to handle all of this anxiety, loneliness, and anger now without drinking?

I support people as they go through some of life's tougher times. I do not "fix" anyone. I help people remember the truth about their worth and value and guide them as they practice living from that truth whether it's for the first time or not. When we get afraid and empty, it is almost impossible to remember this by ourselves, and we need an experienced, knowledgable and loving ally to shine the light for us through the dark and confusing times.

I believe that people often operate from the basis of their story: what has happened in their lives and what they know and feel. I will help you understand your collection of experiences, your thoughts and feelings in order to assist you in reaching goals, and essentially, in getting where you want to go. I will help you ask yourself hard questions and deal with the weirdness and pain of daily life. In addition to therapy, I provide education about mental health, and other human issues that may help you evolve your process and get “un-stuck”. Connection and compassion are essential to healing and so I will offer that to you.

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
