Many people have had experiences that turned their worlds upside down. Sometimes it happened slowly, and sometimes it happened all of a sudden. And then the world looks completely different. If this is you, you might describe the loss you’ve experienced as life-altering. Often in this situation you aren’t just trying to process a huge loss but also the hole it has left in your life. You’re looking at the impact on your future and asking yourself, "What do I do now?"   You might feel like you don’t know who you are anymore or what your life should look like moving forward.

Are relationship dynamics, family tension, or the patterns you keep repeating leaving you feeling stuck and disconnected from who you truly are? Whether the struggle is personal, between partners, or felt across the whole family, it rarely exists in isolation — and neither should the solution. You don't have to untangle it alone, and you don't have to choose between getting help as an individual or getting help together. In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in couples and family therapy, helping you gain deeper insight into your patterns and become more of who you truly are.

I help women who struggle with over-giving and self-trust to break the cycle of self-abandonment and build relationships rooted in clarity, confidence, and emotional safety. Many of my clients come to me feeling disconnected from their needs, dissatisfied in their connections, or finding themselves repeating the same painful patterns. You may have learned to push down your emotions or minimize your needs, and you're just exhausted.

My ideal client is looking to gain a better understanding of how ADHD affects their daily life and develop strategies to manage the disruptions associated with ADHD. They might have received messages their whole life that they were lazy, crazy, or stupid or always wondered if the ADHD label applied. They are likely looking for validation and answers, but are overwhelmed by the amount of information available related to ADHD, and don't know where to turn to next.

You’re high-functioning, self-aware, and capable; so why does everything still feel so overwhelming? You show up, follow through, and push yourself to meet high expectations; at work, in relationships, and in your own mind. But underneath that, you feel anxious, mentally overloaded and burned out. Your thoughts don’t turn off. You overanalyze, second-guess, and carry a constant pressure to keep pushing through- even when you’re exhausted. I work with millennial and Gen Z women who are high-functioning on the outside, but struggling internally, especially those who identify as highly sensitive or neurodivergent.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
