I am a psychotherapist who has been in private practice and treatment centers for over thirty years. In my early years I worked with teens/young adults and their families in residential treatment settings. In my private practice I work mostly with adults, individually and couples. However I will work with teens who have a desire to make a positive shift in their life. My focus is to help the client make changes in patterns they believe are self defeating. My mission is to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies and foster personal growth.

I work with individuals navigating the ripple effects of active addiction and recovery along with coexisting issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, personality disorders, relationship issues and identity conflict.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory, compassion-focused therapy, and the neurobiological science of change. I integrate evidence-based modalities alongside psychoeducation about how the brain and nervous system respond to trauma, stress, and substance use. When you understand why a skill works on a neurological level, you’re more likely to use it!

Are you caught in a cycle of anxious thoughts, avoidance, and the quiet dread that things will never change?
Let's start a collaborative journey where we understand your challenges, uncover patterns of avoidance, and set goals that feel meaningful and achievable. For OCD, social anxiety, or specific phobias, I use exposure-based therapies to help you make sense of how anxiety keeps you stuck, then gradually face fears in a way that feels safe and manageable.

We are committed to help you tackle what's holding you back, whether it's fear, overthinking, or the weight of the past.
Are relationship dynamics, family tension, or the patterns you keep repeating leaving you feeling stuck and disconnected from who you truly are? Whether the struggle is personal, between partners, or felt across the whole family, it rarely exists in isolation — and neither should the solution. You don't have to untangle it alone, and you don't have to choose between getting help as an individual or getting help together. In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in couples and family therapy, helping you gain deeper insight into your patterns and become more of who you truly are.

Sometimes we look at unhelpful thoughts to slow down anxiety and "check the facts" (CBT).
If you are looking for a listener because you need to talk to about: conflict in your marriage, unbearable family relationships, step parenting challenges, frustration with ADHD - yours or someone else's, scary new life transitions, healing from a traumatic event or relationship, or a constant nagging sadness or anxiousness that just won't go away, then we should talk!

Being human is messy. You carry stories in your body—ones you don’t always have words for. Maybe you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted from always holding it together. Old wounds, chronic stress, or relationship patterns that leave you feeling too much or not enough—it’s heavy to carry alone. You want a space where you can be fully seen—without editing yourself. A space to breathe, hear yourself think and reconnect with the parts of you that long for relief, safety, and deeper connection.

Is talking about your feelings uncomfortable or maybe even hard because you don’t know how to name what you’re feeling? Maybe you had a rough childhood and learned to stay quiet or disconnect to survive. Or maybe you’ve worked hard to do everything “right” and keep everyone happy. You’ve pushed through for so long, and now you’re exhausted from wearing the mask and constantly putting out fires. Many of my clients are women navigating complex trauma and mother wounds who want to understand their emotions, feel safer in their bodies, and take up space without apologizing for who they are.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
