My specialty focuses on existential crises, grief, loss, death, aging, family conflict, anxiety, spirituality, chronic pain, depression, suicidal ideation , mood disorders, life purpose, and meaning.
Greetings. I welcome the engagement of one's philosophical, spiritual, and existential leanings as another means of analysis and psychotherapy treatment. The process of psychoanalytic therapy focuses on the "science of the unconscious" attaining to the truth of one's individual & familial experience. My therapeutic framework is one of Eastern and Western integration with that of philosophy, psychoanalysis, and relational psychotherapy. I seek to offer in-depth treatment promoting inquiry. As in the words of Socrates - “Wonder is the beginning of wisdom."

I have experience with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self harm behavior, PTSD, chemical dependency, and anger management.
Be heard and acknowledged. My goal in therapy is to provide you with nonjudgmental and empathetic listening, so you can safely explore your current and core issues. In my experience, the catharsis of sharing your thoughts and feelings leads to discovering your strengths and deficits. I truly believe that it is upon these strengths that you will build a repertoire of cognitive, emotional, and physical coping skills to improve the quality of your life. Sessions will be individually tailored to your needs and goals, whether it be developing skills to combat current issues, processing past trauma, or reexamining overall perspectives.

I know what it’s like to be a client. I know how scary it is to trust a stranger with some of your darkest thoughts and deepest secrets. That’s why I have a slightly different approach with each of my clients. As a counselor I have all of the education, training, experience and state approvals to help each of my clients. But before I can help them, I prefer to allow my clients to show me where they are on their journey. To describe their struggles and ensure I understand what’s troubling them the most. Then we work together to meet their health, personal and professional goals, while addressing any new issues that may arise.

CORONA VIRUS UPDATE: 1st, These are hard, stressful times! I’m sooo sorry we’re all going through this. I am seeing clients in person & via teletherapy. Unfortunately I do not take insurance but I’ve lowered my rate to $85 an hour to try and make therapy as affordable as possible. I’ve been in practice 15 years and have opened my service area thanks to Google Duo & Facetime. I became a therapist after doing my own work over 2 decades ago and yes, I still do my own work with a therapist. It wasn’t easy but it was definitely the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, my family & my friends. I hope I can help you.

You know all the right things to do, exercise, hobbies, spending time with friends and family, but something is still wrong. You feel like you should be enjoying time with your loved ones but can’t figure out why you don’t. You wonder where the “you” you used to know has gone. You don’t know who you are outside of who you love or what you do. You know what you’re required to do but not what you want to do. You started your career with the belief that you would make a difference in the broken system only to realize that you are now feeling broken.

I believe in embracing creative expression, growth, and inner wisdom. As a therapist, I love to explore alternative healing techniques and strength-focused interventions. I have great deal of experience working with people who have experienced trauma or are navigating crisis, grief, and/or loss. I love facilitating groups, training, and teaching experiences to promote community and individual learning. Working with teenagers is another passion of mine. It is my belief that everyone has innate value and purpose to offer the world and that we all have the power within us to be who we want to be. Oftentimes, obstacles in life keep us from getting a clear vision of how to identify what we want and to achieve our goals. I love helping clients to process through their difficult life experiences identify how these experiences can help propel them forward. I often work with teens and adults who are struggling with Anxiety, Depression, identity, career, or finding purpose in their lives. I also have 18 years of experience as a competitive gymnast and love working with athletes.

In this world there is indeed trouble, darkness, violence, and loss. Looking for the light and meaning in it all can seem hopeless. When you feel that you have lost your way or true self altogether trying to fight it alone, I am here to help you seek the truth and be transformed by the renewal of your mind. It is my desire to help clients identify the messages they believe, often subconsciously, beneath the rhythms of daily life. These messages are often memory-informed and can interrupt our relationships, thought process, bodies, daily functioning, and self perception.

Traditional talk therapy doesn't always give us the results we want, especially when working with trauma. I work best with clients who prefer a direct approach and have been trying to heal from trauma for a prolonged period of time without a lot of results. I found that spirituality is an important part of the trauma healing process. To me, spirituality looks like connecting with nature and the earth and expands beyond the traditional perspectives. Trauma often comes with addictions and I do not take the abstinence-only perspective on addiction and tend to emphasize harm reduction as an alternative.

I received a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Oklahoma State University and a Masters of Social Work from Texas Woman's University. I decided to become a social worker because I wanted to learn how to navigate individual and systematic barriers to help bridge the gap between people and their access to mental health. I am passionate about de-stigmatization, and collective healing experienced through the sharing of our stories!

While most types of therapy have a lot in common, they also fall into clusters that share core features, such as cognitive therapies or psychodynamic approaches. It is important to seek someone who practices evidence-based therapy, meaning one or more forms of treatment that have been scientifically evaluated and tested, and demonstrate consistent improvement for a majority of patients.
