My practice focuses on helping you identify intimacy avoidant behaviors & providing support/skills to develop a healthy relationship with one’s self and others. We will address, non-judgmentally, the topics many of us keep hidden in to order reduce chronic feelings of guilt and shame. My specialties include intimacy disorders such as love and sex addictions (including partners of sex and love addicts), eating disorders, body image and weight stigma, work and financial disorders, bariatric support and counseling, and phase of life issues.

Our trauma is not merely an event; it's a deeply felt wound narrating stories of harm, neglect, and betrayal, deeply embedded in the fabric of our being. It interrupts our narrative, demanding to be acknowledged and engaged with. I believe sharing our story and mourning our wounds serves to both honor and restore dignity to the parts of ourselves that have faced shame and harm. My passion lies in assisting clients by helping them tell their stories and gently uncovering the pain, thereby revealing paths to healing and growth, leading to thriving life patterns, enriching relationships, and building a resilient, secure sense of self

Through their work at The Heart of Counseling and Wellness, clients learn ways to break negative behavioral patterns, gain healthy coping tools, and receive psychoeducation on mental health. My main focus is intergenerational trauma. I work with my clients to gain an understanding of what happened to them and how it affects how they show up today. My goal is to walk with each client to get to the heart of what brings them through my door. I believe that with support and empowerment, individuals can have fulfilling and healthy lives.

I have an additional focus on Men's Issues related to Infidelity, sexual dysfunction, and sex/porn addiction. I also focus on gambling addiction and provide a safe space to work through these issues.

I am a fellowship trained sex therapist, studying under Dr. Eli Coleman, the nation's first endowed Chair in Sexual Health. One of the most important factors I have learned is that sexual health is very complex. However, it is important to understand that sexual concerns are best viewed within a couples framework. Addressing sexual concerns from this perspective helps to alleviate feelings of guilt & blame. This is done by working with individuals to help create an intimate team approach to therapy. My clinical interests are in male and female sexual dysfunction, compulsive sexual behavior/sex addiction, and relationship therapy.

My purpose is to guide and facilitate my clients toward an empowered, spiritually connected, and self-directed life. Individuals who are discouraged by, and feel powerless over their impulsivity and compulsions, battle against their own behaviors, emotions, and thoughts, and who have lost their connection to living in joy, are those I feel compassionately called to serve.
