I use a client-centered approach, incorporating IFS and EMDR, to help individuals and couples navigating a range of sexual issues, including pain and dysfunction, postpartum challenges, polyamory relationships, Kink and BDSM dynamics, as well as sexual and religious trauma.
Sex is an integral part of human connection and well-being, but can often be one of the most challenging aspects of relationships to navigate. I believe open, honest conversations are essential for a fulfilling, authentic sex life. As a Certified Sex Therapist, my goal is to help clients shift the negative or problematic beliefs that influence their experiences, opening up new possibilities for connection and pleasure, as well as build a sex life that is vibrant and empowered—and in turn, improve overall relationship satisfaction.

Help relationships work together and support one another through a communication style that brings understanding to the relationship regardless of its design, including Kink dynamics and Swinger lifestyle.
It can be overwhelming to find the right therapist. Sharing your private life and struggles is difficult. Whether you are experiencing relationship conflicts, intimacy issues, sexual dysfunction or dissatisfaction, sexual identity struggles, uncertainty about the quality of your life, anxiety, depression, or any number of emotions, it can be challenging to know what to do and who to turn to. In my private practice, my role as your therapist is to work with you to face challenges, find solutions, and help improve your life. You will not have to do it alone. My website has more information.

First things first... You are not "broken"; there is not something "wrong" with you. Oh yeah, and you're not "crazy." We all develop views of the world and coping behaviors based on our life experiences. It's what your brain does naturally to help you adapt and survive! I enjoy helping my clients become aware of these skills and utilize them effectively. Simultaneously, I enjoy aiding clients in the development of new skills and tools to assist in places where the old ones just aren't working anymore.

Has sex become a bit of a sore subject? Maybe you're starting to get sexually frustrated or you feel guilty for not meeting your partner's needs. Or maybe you have an aspect of your sexual identity you'd like to explore more. You might be feeling disconnected-more like friends, co-parents or roommates instead of lovers. For most of us, sex is admittedly a sensitive area that can bring up insecurities or confusion. It can seem like we're supposed to know everything already, but that's not true. Whether it's low libido, trouble initiating or feeling "in your head" during sex, things can get better!

You’ve been the rock for everyone else — pushing forward even when your tank is empty. It's the only way you know how to survive, and it's worked so far. Right? Carrying the weight of trauma, parenthood, anxiety, relationship struggles, childhood abuse, a thankless job and a dwindling sense of self-worth has left you feeling weak and drained. But you are so much stronger than you think. Strength isn’t stuffing it down/never needing help—it’s knowing when to reach for it. Counseling is your chance to lay down some of that weight, rediscover your resilience, and begin building a life that feels lighter, stronger, and truly yours.

My therapeutic approach is holistic and Self-driven, honoring the sacred nature of mind, body, and spirit. My focus is leading you back to Self. You are your own expert! Our upbringing often severs us from a natural understanding of ourselves, and I aim to bring people back to internal and external balance. Healing trauma and its effects on the mind and body is my main focus. If oppression against your marginalized identities has not been appropriately explored in therapy, or if recent political and global events have activated deep fears, it is also my priority to maintain a sacred space for witnessing those wounds.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists

Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?

Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?

Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
