Studies show that the quality of the relationship between therapist and patient is the highest predictor of successful treatment, over modality, but nevertheless, my most common treatment modalities are CBT, ERP, BPT, and PCIT.
As a Harvard-trained psychologist, I help 20 & 30 somethings with anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma, depression, family dynamics, parenting, and perinatal mental health. Most of my adult clients are high achievers in demanding professions such as corporate fields & healthcare. I also specialize in child selective mutism, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD.

Every day feels like a rollercoaster of worry, and you’re stuck in a cycle of seeking relief in distractions? You’ve poured everything into helping loved ones, only to hit a frustrating wall? Your mind is a battleground of conflicting thoughts, making decisions and changes seems not worth the fight? Tasks pile up, and the idea of starting to tackle them is overwhelming you? Wearing a mask, even with yourself, becomes a necessity to feel somewhat okay? Strong emotions trigger panic or self-harm, and the pain or numbness feels easier in the dark places? Things you used to love no longer bring joy, and even laughter feels empty?

"Be caring, curious, and then compassionate." I practice these three steps just as I teach them. I studied psychology, counseling, and family therapy for 12 years to become the best therapist I could be and to know how best to help someone work through depression or anxiety. I especially enjoy working with couples to help create their healthiest relationship. My speciality is working with parents and their children even if they are grown.

I work with individual adults, couples, families, and children (ages 3 - 10) and together we curate helpful ways to cope with everyday life and relationships. I encourage clients to focus on their inner strengths and make choices that bring them closer to their goals. I believe our thoughts, behaviors, values, and beliefs begin in our early years within our families of origin. These years, along with the life experiences and challenges we encounter along the way serve to shape us. Uncovering how these thoughts and behaviors impact our daily life is an important step toward healing, change, and freedom.

You may look like you're holding everything together while privately struggling with anxiety, emotional exhaustion, painful past experiences, or relationship patterns you can't seem to change. Maybe you're navigating a major life transition, constantly worrying, feeling overwhelmed, or wondering why the same challenges keep showing up. I work with adults who want to better understand what's beneath these patterns and feel more in control of their emotional well-being. Together, we'll build healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

Insight. Balance. Growth. These 3 elements are what I have found people are seeking when forming a working relationship with a professional psychologist. A balanced therapeutic perspective, someone who listens with insight, and a plan created WITH the client for sustained personal and/or professional growth - this is what I offer in my work with clients. It's an approach that has been successful with clients for over 3 decades. My clients describe me as warm, genuine, caring, and the process of change as enjoyable even though at times life circumstances can be difficult.

Office-based and virtual appointments are available; Parent-Child Interaction Therapy ( PCIT) is available in your own home ("house calls")!
Something’s happened. It was a big, terrible, life-changing event. Or maybe it was a million little things that added up to everything just being hard and heavy all the time. You try to avoid reminders, but sometimes you just can’t. The memories flood your thoughts, wash through your emotions, and weigh down your body. Your relationships are suffering. It’s difficult to focus. Your mind, heart, and body are just not at ease. Swinging between autopilot and survival mode feels out of control. You just want to be able to act on your values.

In practice I use a pragmatic, results-oriented approach and am not tethered to one behavioral health modality. Rather, recognizing each patient has unique needs, I draw from many therapeutic approaches that best fit each patient. In my practice, I can quickly assess which techniques will work best to meet each client's individual needs to show patients that they can have the right tools to reach their optimal comfort level in their careers, families, and relationships. The goal is bridging the gap and finding the most productive pathway between where clients are and where they want to be.

I really love my job. Whether it's child or adult individual therapy or collaborative parent consultation, I will meet you where you need me. I will create a safe, empathetic environment for you to explore what makes sense for you. I’ll ask questions or reflect thoughts you may not have considered… and I’ll use a touch of humor to help it feel easier. One of my strengths is leveraging my gently direct approach within CBT and other evidence based short term interventions (such as SPACE or ERP) leading to effective, shorter term therapeutic treatment.

CSS offers a wide range of services, like play therapy, individual & family therapy, social skills groups, ADHD/autism assessments, parent training, PCIT, executive functioning & EMDR.
Nothing tugs at your heart more than seeing your child struggle—and not knowing how to help. Children often don’t have the words to explain what they’re feeling, but as a parent, you just know when something’s not quite right. I work with children ages 2 to 10 and their families in individual and group settings to support challenges like ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, emotional regulation, and social skills. I also offer ADHD and autism assessments to help guide therapy and give families clearer direction. My play therapy approach is personalized, playful (of course!), and grounded in cognitive behavioral strategies.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT) Therapists
Does parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) work?
PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective across domains, including for children with behavioral problems, those on the autism spectrum, and those who have experienced early childhood trauma. Further, studies have found that the skills developed through PCIT benefit not only the child in therapy but also siblings, as the parent internalizes lessons learned in sessions and is able to incorporate them into interactions with other family members.

How long does PCIT last?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and treatment lasts, on average, between 12 and 20 sessions. Factors that influence treatment duration include how regularly a client attends treatment, how much progress is achieved between sessions, the particular skills that need development, and the extent to which the parent and therapist see improvement.

Can PCIT be done online?
PCIT is among the therapy types best suited for video sessions. Therapists are able to communicate with parents with essentially the same ease, and by observing the parent and child at home in their normal environment, the therapist may gain additional insight into their interactions, as the child will have their normal toys and may feel more comfortable and act more naturally than they would in a therapist’s room.

Does PCIT help parents?
In addition to the skills parents develop through the treatment, PCIT has also been shown to reduce frustration, stress, and depression in parents and promote confidence and a sense of calm when dealing with their children. The desired outcomes of PCIT include a reduction in defiant and aggressive behavior by children and an improvement in communicating their feelings productively, complying with parental instruction, and behaving according to parents’ rules. Growth in these areas can be a relief for parents.
