Living with OCD and Anxiety can feel debilitating.
Through modalities such as Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Rumination Focused ERP (RF-ERP) and Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) you will feel equipped to treat and manage your OCD symptoms. Additionally I often utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to move through life's challenges.

My speciality is working with clients who struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ( OCD).
People struggle, often silently, in several areas. This can be in fearing conflict with others, struggling with your faith, navigating unhealthy boundaries in relationships, wrestling with loneliness or dealing with self shame that may reside within your mind. It may feel like a constant cycle that is difficult to break on your own. These are some of the areas where I can come along side you to help you with whatever you are going through. Life is hard enough to figure out on your own. Fortunately therapy with me provides a space to feel safe in dealing with your problems and helps you develop resources to solve these.

I specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder ( OCD) and Anxiety Disorders including Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
I am an Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) trained therapist. ERP, a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is considered the gold standard approach for treating OCD. Although my approach is grounded in the gold standard, I consider myself eclectic as I borrow from many theories and tailor a treatment plan according to the idiosyncrasies of each client.

If you are ready to put holes in the story that OCD and anxiety have been telling you and construct a completely new narrative by gaining the insight and tools needed to smash obsessions, tiresome compulsions, rumination, chronic worry, and self-doubt, I'm here to tell you that I'm a therapist who has been there myself, and I truly get it.
I am a trauma and attachment-informed, lived experienced clinician with a specialization in OCD spectrum and anxiety disorders. I have moved beyond the one-size-fits-all approach in treatment by embracing effective and evidence-based interventions rooted in neuroscience that are quickly gaining momentum in the field - think I-CBT, RF-ERP, ACT.

OCD treatment is unique and focused on Exposure and Response Prevention, the gold standard intervention.
My ideal client is someone with a listening ear, with the courage to reimagine his/her life. Someone with dreams and a passion to realize them... Or maybe somebody broken and lost. Someone imperfect. Because that's real. That's being human. To quote a British philosopher: "I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts, some superhero, some fairy tale bliss... I want something just like this..."

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, phobias, social anxiety, performance anxiety, generalized anxiety and panic are my specialties.
I have extensive training in treating OCD including certification through the IOCDF Behavioral Therapy Training Institute. Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are the methods most supported by the research so I use these when working with OCD. I am also licensed in Colorado and can do telehealth throughout the state.

I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder ( OCD), and I’m a certified sex addiction therapist, supporting individuals dealing with compulsive sex/pornography use.
I believe that through relationships, we can get further than doing this alone. I use a person centered and strengths based approach, rooted in relational and attachment theories. I also utilize research based models such as the Gottman Method for couples. Whether you are looking for individual counseling or couples counseling, I'd love to connect and chat

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
