Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists in Dallas, TX
In practice I use a pragmatic, results-oriented approach and am not tethered to one behavioral health modality. Rather, recognizing each patient has unique needs, I draw from many therapeutic approaches that best fit each patient. In my practice, I can quickly assess which techniques will work best to meet each client's individual needs to show patients that they can have the right tools to reach their optimal comfort level in their careers, families, and relationships. The goal is bridging the gap and finding the most productive pathway between where clients are and where they want to be.

Life as a woman often means navigating big transitions—infertility, motherhood, career shifts, relationship stress, or the empty nest season. These changes can leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained. Many women I see are balancing multiple roles—whether as professionals, mothers, or homeschool moms—and they long for relief, clarity, and confidence. My clients want to feel more grounded, strengthen resilience, and move through life’s challenges with peace and purpose.

I’m so glad you're taking the step toward growth! As a clinical social worker, my passion is helping clients discover and reach their fullest potential. Through self-reflection, we can explore all parts of ourselves—including those that may feel less polished—so we can grow and thrive. Setbacks are a natural part of life, and what's important is learning from them. Past wounds can sometimes hold us back from reaching our goals, but together, we can build the tools to break through those barriers. In our sessions, my goal is to offer warmth and empathy, always honoring that you are the expert of your own story.

Accept, choose, and take action. Those are key components of the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) style I embrace. ACT therapy encourages individuals to both seek a deeper understanding of occasional unpleasant realities in the world and choose to develop new behaviors which allow them to interact more successfully within that world. Because anxiety, depression and stress can interfere with living an enriched, meaningful life and realizing your valued goals, ACT serves as a way to "reboot" your thinking. In addition, I have been trained in both Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-focused Therapy.

You've checked all the 'boxes' but still feel like something's missing. Maybe you're the first one in your family who 'made it out' or always held to high standards. It feels like you're failing even when you're winning. On the outside, you got it together, but inside you're busting at the seams & numb. You're not at your best even though others think you are. Sometimes you mask 'cause you don't feel like you can be your authentic self. You're not broken; high achievement has just been your survival skill. You want real connections, to build a life that actually feels good, not just looks good. If this is you, let's talk

My primary job as a therapist is to learn your unique story so that I can understand your views and lived experiences. I believe all behavior makes sense in context, and by working together, we can both gain awarenesses and insights as to why you may be struggling. After uncovering the "why", we will work together to find healing, growth, and more adaptive coping skills. I am a firm believer in the mind-body connection and believe that our lifestyle and environment have a huge impact on our mental health. These beliefs inform my work as a therapist.

I am an EMDRIA-trained EMDR Therapist, and I hold certifications in Clinical Trauma, Integrative Mental Health and Dynamic Mindfulness
Typically, clients come to see me when their previous experiences with traditional "talk" therapy haven't helped to resolve their symptoms. Trauma and stress have an emotional, psychological and physical impact, but we often need to start treatment at the most basic level: calming the nervous system. I see clients who are experiencing chronic pain, illness, addiction, PTSD and other common co-occurring disorders including Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) or Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES). All of these issues can be treated using empirically proven techniques that address the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

I utilize elements of Relational Cultural Theory, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness-based approaches in my practice to create an inclusive and affirming space for clients to work towards their goals.
I believe the most healing factor of therapy is a relationship built on mutual empathy, earned trust, and compassion. My aim is to create an environment in which clients feel fully supported, accepted, and free to bring their full selves into the therapy room free of any judgement or shame. I hope to help clients create meaningful change in their lives by fostering self-compassion and understanding, confronting systems of internal and external oppression, and nurturing the resilience already living inside of them.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
