I use parts theories like IFS (Internal Family Systems) and I am trained in EMDR and Coherence Therapy.
You may have spent a lot of time thinking about your patterns, your relationships, and why you do what you do. But despite that effort, the same things keep happening. Whether it’s anxiety, relationship dynamics, or ways of coping that don’t feel right, it can be frustrating when insight alone doesn’t lead to real change. I work with people who feel stuck in their patterns, especially ones rooted in earlier experiences, relationships, or unmet emotional needs. This can show up as anxiety, disconnection, relationship struggles, or a sense that something isn't right, even if things look okay on the outside.

My clients additionally benefit from my extensive training (over 13 years) in trauma informed care, EMDR training and certification, and IFS integration.
In order to get where we want to go, we must first look at where we have been and how that has led to where we are. Reserving judgement and remaining curious are paramount to progress, as is a willingness to engage in change that, at times, may be a little uncomfortable. We will work collaboratively to decide if you agree with the existing beliefs you carry, and leave behind those that no longer serve you. Together, we will incorporate changes that help shape new, congruent ideals that set you on a path to your most fulfilled and authentic self.

Life is incredibly complicated, messy, and challenging. It can often feel heavy to hold, and that’s why you might be here. My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive, body-liberated framework, with a strong commitment to amplifying all voices, especially those from marginalized identities and backgrounds who have carried the burden of societal expectations. Through our work together we can transform confusing or sh!tty experiences into meaning and growth. Though the path won’t always be easy, I can promise that I will be right alongside you as we unpack all that you have been carrying alone.

Something keeps repeating. The same fight, the same shutdown, the same shame that showed up long before you were old enough to name it. Most people I work with have tried to manage it, outwork it, or think their way out, and it hasn't held. I work with men who lost access to their own emotions somewhere along the way, couples trying to survive betrayal, and people carrying sexual or religious shame and the sense of never being enough. I also work with immigrants and first-generation clients living between two worlds. This is depth work. Not advice, not quick fixes, and not a kinder story about your life than the true one.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
