I have extensive experience working with people coping with different types of issues ranging from mild adjustment difficulties to chronic and severe psychosis. I have worked with clients in various treatment settings, including out-patient clinics, a university counseling center, a partial hospitalization program, nursing homes, psychiatric in-patient treatment, residential substance abuse treatment programs, and private practice. My areas of specialization include relationship issues, loss / grief, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and post-partum adjustment. In addition, I treat both individuals and couples.

I also befriend people struggling in a mixed-orientation marriage, where one partner is gay and the other is straight. My ongoing mission is to create a therapeutic environment that is comfortable and non-threatening, a safe sanctuary for expressing inner feelings and disclosing personal problems for both individuals and couples. I work from a mindfulness-based practice of "being with what is," while teaching clients how to utilize their body as an ally in their healing journey. I work with adults (21+) whose presenting concerns are most often related to anxiety, depression, grief, spirituality, "deconstruction," "purity culture," "reconstruction," sexuality, and relationships. My guiding therapeutic modalities are attachment-focused and trauma-informed (active training in Somatic Experiencing). I am also trained in ACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy (and EFIT), and the Gottman Method for couples. While I am most familiar with Christianity, my practice is open to people of every religious tradition and people with no religious affiliation. I welcome married and unmarried couples into couple therapy.
