I care about your whole self, which is why I often incorporate nutrition and movement, multicultural, and feminist principles into my practice.
We all go through seasons where we feel bogged down, overwhelmed, and tired. This can leave us feeling misunderstood, unseen, or unheard. Prolonged struggles can affect our sense of self and impact relationships with our family and friends, making it difficult to get unstuck and move forward. In my practice, I partner with you as you navigate the difficulties that life has thrown your way. My training and lived experience helps me to remain informed as we consider your many different parts and the perspectives that come with them. My hope is to create a space where you feel safe to be your whole, authentic self as you heal.

My goal is to provide a safe, flexible space tailored to your specific needs where you feel unconditionally embraced and understood as you work towards your goals.

I use trauma-informed, person-centered, feminist, and multicultural approaches, along with mindfulness.
You might feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders—your mind is racing, filled with “what ifs” and self-doubt. Maybe anxiety has you second-guessing every decision, or depression makes it hard to get out of bed. You might struggle to juggle work, relationships, and life, all while feeling like you’re falling short. Or perhaps past trauma still lingers, impacting your ability to be present. It’s exhausting, and you’re ready for things to change. What if life didn’t have to feel overwhelming? Imagine feeling confident, quieting the racing thoughts, and setting boundaries that honor your needs.

Having received my Masters from Texas Woman’s University, my approach to therapy is feminist and social justice oriented meaning I work with you to see how your particular mix of identities affects your life and empower you to look at the world with a critical lens.
I practice from a place of collaboration with you and acceptance of who you are. I’m nonjudgmental, completely unpretentious, and like to use humor and self disclosure in session but will work to help you focus on things that are uncomfortable for you.

The main theories I pull from include humanist, systemic, multicultural- feminist, and interpersonal/relational approaches.
If you are looking for a space to feel seen, to practice being your authentic self, and to work through current (or past) events that are bringing you distress, welcome. You’ve taken the often difficult first step towards healing. I am a psychotherapist serving folks out of the DFW area (I am also able to provide services in other areas of Texas), and I am particularly passionate about providing a space for exploration and healing to members of the Deaf community (d/Deaf individuals, CODAs, interpreters, Deaf educators, and others who are peripheral to the deaf community). I provide therapy in both English and ASL.

I practice therapy from a feminist-multicultural lens, meaning that we talk about how your circumstances and perceptions impact your mental health and how to change the things within your control.
From the outside, it looks like you are killing it. You're ambitious, dependable, accomplished and often find yourself asked to take on more responsibility because of it. Yet your cruel inner voice keeps telling you that you're not good enough and you never will be. It's exhausting trying to maintain appearances and continue functioning at this level. You are tired of taking care of everyone else and having nothing left for yourself. You don't want to be a doormat but part of you is afraid to stand up for yourself because you worry it will lead to you losing everyone. You may even think you deserve how you've been treated.

Operating from an existential- feminist, solution-focused stance, I salute you as sole authority on your inimitable narrative, celebrate your identities, and spotlight your strengths to achieve enhanced, liberated living as defined by you.
At times, the existential trek is painfully taxing, even intolerable, yet also fertile terrain for unearthing our boundless capacity. Here, therapy serves as an avenue to a more agentic, authentic, self-honoring narrative. Unflinchingly committed to and invested in my clients' growth, I strive to foster an affirming, trusting relationship in which we gently excavate your sources of unrest and facilitate deeper awareness, integration, and action. I relish working with anyone who finds their needs and desires at odds with cultural scripts or societal expectations and may struggle for harmony inside an inherently paradoxical existence.

My primary theoretical approach is one of interpersonal and holistic psychology that draws from acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic, existential, feminist, and multicultural counseling work.
The work we do will pair a radical acceptance of Self and the predicament we find ourselves in with an active commitment towards increased self-awareness. My approach relies less on diagnostics and problem-solving symptoms and more on reframing the entire way that we interact with the life within us and surrounding us.

For almost 10 years I was an integrative therapist, thus I sometimes draw some aspects of spirituality and psychology in conjunction with feminist and diversity conscious coaching into my practice.
My ideal client is a high-achieving executive, entrepreneur, or business owner who is deeply committed to personal and professional growth. They are successful on paper but feel unfulfilled, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that limit their potential. They may struggle with burnout, decision fatigue, imposter syndrome, or difficulty scaling their business while maintaining balance. At the Heart-Centered Leadership Institute, I help high performers develop emotional intelligence, master their mindset, and create a life that aligns with their values. My coaching is a blend of neuroscience, psychology, & leadership development.

I employ a trauma-informed and person-centered approach along with a feminist approach to help you find your voice within your preferred family system, while identifying your strengths.
You are feeling a strong need to escape a painful or abusive past. Your past trauma is causing you relationship strains now. You feel worried, stressed and afraid that something awful might happen. "Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence." - Peter Levine. You value the importance of a non-judgmental and safe space to process & heal from your trauma. You want someone who recognizes that you are more than your past traumatic experiences to restore your sense of self & emotional safety. You want someone who has a deeper commitment towards you as a whole, rather than just addressing the symptoms.

Hi, I'm Karli. :) I'm so glad you're here! I am passionate about working with people who want a safe and sex-positive environment to grow individually and relationally in their sexuality and eroticism. I often work with people who feel hopeless about their sex life, relationship conflict, or dating insecurities, or who have internalized sexual shame keeping them from exploring their pleasure and desires. I also work with people experiencing sexual dysfunction and pain. If you are feeling insecure or hopeless, I would love to help show you just how common and valid your experiences are.

I use relational neuroscience with a feminist, multicultural, and neurodiversity affirming lens.
Do you feel overwhelmed when everyone else seems to be doing just fine, or have trouble connecting even when around others? Maybe you've been told you are "too sensitive", or think that if you could just "toughen up" or change your perspective you would feel better. Well, I’m here to tell you that your feelings are valid, and they are important messengers from your nervous system telling you that some healing needs to be done. Facing life alone has a profound negative impact on our well-being. I will provide much needed emotional support while we explore what you need to feel safe and confident going into each day.

Hello everyone, I'm Azadeh, also known as Azi. With over a decade of experience as a psychotherapist, I've worked with clients of diverse ages and backgrounds. My focus is on assisting individuals dealing with anxiety and depression, collaborating with them to discover their inner strength for a happier self. Certified as a trauma and anxiety clinician (CCTP and CCATP), I draw inspiration from quotes like Mary Oliver's "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" and “Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is the only moment.” Thich Nhat Hahn.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
