Do you want to be successful in relationships?
I enjoy seeing people overcome fears. I do cognitive-behavioral therapy in which we examine disturbing thoughts that lead to fear, worry, anxiety, and other "joy-robbing" emotions. Through the use of positive thoughts and reinforcing behavior, negative thought processes are broken down and new confidence is restored.

I see couples/families and individually as needed
The client I impact most is one primarily motivated for change. I'm not an "ah huh, mmmm, I see" therapist. I am very active in session, and my client wants honest, direct feedback and education on issues and new skills for improved coping. I am patient, seasoned and aware that fear and habits make change hard, so I offer significant support and positive encouragement. My therapy involves Cognitive/Behavioral techniques like identifying one's "head chatter" , teaching skills to shift to a more positive mindset. Critical self talk (driven by anxiety), creates long term oppression and depression. Shifting this is empowering.

With special training in high conflict personalities, I have seen a dramatic increase in clientele who are struggling with spouses, parents and bosses exhibiting traits of narcissistic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder and other related personality disorders.
I hear many accounts of people, especially 25-45, feeling overwhelmed with busy lives, feeling numb, trapped or unfulfilled. Sometimes these feelings have lead to out of control behaviors, shame and guilt. Fear of letting others down or failing to meet the perceived standards of our culture can cause the best of us to feel trapped in a spin cycle. I try to provide my clients with a safe, non-judgmental, objective environment to face their fears, feelings and struggles in order to make the way for new thinking and more positive behaviors.

The heart is protected for a reason. If the heart gets injured we can’t exist. The heart is encased inside so many layers of protection to keep it safe. Layers of organ, muscle, nerve, and fascia each working together and independently function to make sure the heart is protection from injury and harm.
Brains are very creative, constantly sending messages in communication with the body to tell it what to do. Connected to our view of the outside world and our emotions that filter through the past and present to dictate the future, the brain takes on the huge responsibility of warning us of harm. This is crucial to the heart.
