You may be dealing with cultural pressures, wrestling with self-worth, or navigating relationships and identity changes.
Is this your first time being a human? It can be complicated and weird! There’s no how-to manual to help navigate the many challenges of being alive: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, religious baggage, sexual and gender identity questions, or staying focused amongst many competing forces looking to capture your time. Nevertheless, here you are. Trying your best. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted. Maybe wondering if you’re doing it “wrong.” I can promise you: you're not.

Are you your own worst critic? Maybe you spend a lot of time beating yourself up, asking questions like “What’s wrong with me?” I know because I’ve worked with so many other people with similar struggles, and as a veteran, I’ve experienced it myself. Such negative thoughts are normal when you’ve never learned to combat them. Unfortunately, they contribute to many issues such as depression and anxiety. They can even worsen symptoms from trauma. The good news is you can change your patterns of thinking. One of my favorite quotes from Marcus Aurelius is “The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.”

"PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION." Three simple words with profound implications. People seek therapy for one fundamental reason: Something in their life is not working, and they want to find a solution, an answer, to make things right again. In other words, people come to counseling to change what is no longer effective. "WITH EACH STEP, I AM GETTING STRONGER." This is my guiding philosophy, personally and professionally. I firmly believe that with enough time, support and guidance, everyone is capable of creating the change, the progress they want in their life.

I have become an expert in LOVE: couples, marriages and nearly all relationships that require communication, conflict-resolution and authenticity.
When working with couples, it is Kathryn's direct yet non-judgmental approach that helps determine which patterns are holding them back and then helps them establish new, more productive patterns. Kathryn draws from Gottman and Cognitive behavioral therapy. Kathryn works with couples on trust, intimacy, forgiveness, and communication.

I work from a biblical counseling perspective and help couples and individuals improve their lives and marriages.
You know you’re supposed to have peace and joy in Christ, yet something still feels deeply wrong inside. You carry quiet struggles that weigh heavily day after day. If you grew up in the faith but now feel distant or disconnected, or if you’re deeply committed yet still battle anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, spiritual dryness, or lingering grief, life can feel exhausting. Joy seems out of reach. Peace remains elusive, even with your sincere efforts to pray more, read Scripture, and trust God more fully. You’re not alone. Many believers like you wonder why the freedom promised in Christ still feels so far away.

I am passionate about life and helping people resolve trauma, build better relationships and become their authentic self.
I have been working with clients and patients in a clinical capacity for just over a decade. I have worked extensively in hospital settings and continue to provide Telehealth support for triaging clients in crisis. In private practice I treat clients with depression, adjustment disorders, anxiety, parenting challenges, misunderstood teens, and more. Clients want to be heard! They want a safe place to express themselves, free of judgement. They want to know that they are not alone, in whatever battle they are fighting. I think people long for connection; connection to not things but to people and experiences.
