Hello, I'm Angela, a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about listening to people's stories. My journey into counseling began with a childhood interest in behavioral health. With experience spanning across children, adolescents, adults, and couples, I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, life changes, grief, trauma, and disordered eating. Drawing from both professional training and personal life as a wife and mother, I provide empathetic and effective care.

I have a strong desire to help couples experience the healing power of emotional connection. My specialization in attachment and trauma has lent itself to helping individuals and families reimagine their future, deepen their intimacy, and nurture their connection. I have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and in Christian Sex Therapy. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I help women and teens impacted by emotionally destructive relationships. I have a special love for leading couples groups and joyfully practice in both Dallas and Grapevine.

It is my goal to provide my clients with a safe and confidential environment to explore issues and provide growth towards awareness, behavioral change, and resolution. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in the profession for over 5 years. Throughout this time, I have helped my clients become empowered to work through various life issues. My client experience ranges from Christian counseling, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, work life/career challenges, overcoming loss and grief, self-worth, and life transitions. I believe it’s important to work with an end goal, and equally important to modify thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as necessary.

I was born and raised in Texas. I love the Texas Summer nights and Autumn days. I grew up in a blended family of my mother, grandparents, biological brother, and many foster brothers and sisters. Let's just say things were always interesting, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Those experiences helped shape who I am and gave me insight into a variety of people.

PLAY THERAPY (age 2 & up!), FAMILIES, COUPLES (marital, pre marital, other) or INDIVIDUALS! I have worked with children and families for 13+ years. I taught in the public schools for 6 years before leaving the classroom to work with children and families in a more intimate, counseling setting. As a registered play therapist, I work with young clients who are having issues in school as well as home. I have training on attachment and bonding issues and frequently work with adoption triad cases (birth families, adoptive families, and adoptees). My clients range in age 2-adulthood!

FWCAI's clinically trained therapists offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, seeking the best solution for each client. We offer an integrated approach to counseling, using a biblical worldview and our skills and experience to offer counseling from a Christian perspective, although we also use traditional and cutting edge therapeutic approaches and integrate them into our practice where helpful. Not every client shares our worldview, and this integrated approach allows us to serve clients not seeking distinctly Christian counseling.

I graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with degrees in Christian education and Biblical counseling. I believe that all people should be treated with dignity, grace, and mercy, and that everyone struggles with the basic building blocks of society: relationships. My work is focused on individuals, married couples, families, employees, and small groups.

Laena received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Texas Christian University and her Masters in Professional Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. She has experience working in private practice, university counseling, and church settings where she has had the opportunity to work with both adolescents and adults from all walks of life and varying presenting problems. Some of these include eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, life transitions, and low self-esteem, amongst others.

Bryan Granie is a therapist at Fresh Start Life Solutions, a coaching & therapy private practice located in South Florida. He provides systemically oriented & individually customized therapeutic services to clients of all ages in individual, family, and group settings. Bryan utilizes a variety of environments/experiences to enhance the therapeutic process to include: equine, barn/nature, kayaking, running/walking, & sports/fitness. Bryan also provides business/career coaching services to individuals & companies.
