Tired – of behaviors you can’t change, of relationships that drain you, of pretending to be okay when you're not, of pain that never seems to end, of responsibilities that are overwhelming, of feeling so alone, of life. In a world that is accustomed to quick fixes, filters, and a façade of “having it all together,” it is my greatest joy to provide a window of space where you can freely breathe and fall apart. It is my primary goal to cultivate an environment where you can find meaning in this messy life that so often feels senseless and out of our control.

I specialize in working with women navigating depression, anxiety, grief, and cancer.
In our sessions, you can expect a warm welcome, genuine compassion, and a space where it’s okay to just be yourself. I listen without judgment and meet you where you are, whether you need to talk things through, process deep emotions, or just take a breath. I believe healing happens when you feel seen, heard, and accepted for who you are.

As a medical psychologist specializing in health-related issues ( cancer, illness, disability, managing symptoms, living "scan to scan," fear of progression or recurrence, body image, changes in roles & relationships, depression, anxiety, isolation, or end of life), we will work on strategies grounded in psychoneuroimmunology—the science linking mind, body, and immune health—to develop coping skills, nervous system regulation, put calm to chaos, and restore balance from the inside out.
As a behavioral sleep specialist, I also provide treatment for sleep disorders, such as insomnia, shift changes, and chronic jet lag. I have developed and directed sleep improvement clinics at medical centers across the country. I specialize in restorative sleep at any age (yes, that also includes sleep training for infants and toddlers!)

Do you feel like you’re constantly trying to keep everyone happy, while quietly falling apart yourself? Maybe you’re the dependable one, the “strong” one, the one who gets everything done. But inside, you’re overwhelmed. The pressure to be perfect, meet family expectations, or always show up for others can make it hard to even know what you want. Located in Dallas, TX, I work with teens and young adults who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and people-pleasing. As a South Asian eldest daughter, I understand the cultural pressure to hold it all together, even when it’s costing you.

Life has a way of throwing us curveballs, and sometimes even the most capable, caring people find themselves feeling stuck, lost, or overwhelmed. Maybe you’re navigating a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety or depression, or trying to hold things together for everyone else while quietly feeling exhausted inside. You might be facing grief, relationship challenges, or simply realizing that what once worked for you no longer does. My goal is to create a calm, compassionate space where you can pause, breathe, and begin to untangle what’s been weighing on you.

I’m so glad you’re here. I know that beginning this journey is often the most difficult part, but you’ve made it to this point and that is something to be proud of. I would be honored to get to walk this path with you. I can’t promise you that it will always be easy, but I will do everything I can to support, encourage and reassure you while we challenge the thoughts, ideas and emotions that are weighing you down, together. You don’t have to continue to carry them on your own. I don't intend to tell you what to do or what you need. I believe you already have those answers.

The path of progress comes from collaboration in an atmosphere of cooperation, education, and insight. Whether our stress is around our internal needs, people close to us, or with the state of the world, the counseling relationship is about accessing and utilizing your innate ability to learn and grow from where you are into the better life you seek. Covid-19 has disrupted nearly all our connections with friends, family, work, and community. This has brought out the unfulfilled need for connection in relationships already stressful, and has inspired people to find creative ways of strengthening connection.

Hello! I've been a therapist in Dallas for more than twenty years, and in that time, I've helped hundreds of people overcome the obstacles that stood in the way of their happiness. These issues include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, substance abuse, and trauma-related issues, among others. I believe the strongest tool a therapist has is a caring, honest therapeutic relationship with the client. If you are ready to take a positive step in finding fulfillment, then I'm ready to help.

Cancer Therapists

How does cancer affect mental health?

A cancer diagnosis is a major life event that can significantly influence the mental health of any individual. Being diagnosed with cancer often introduces a sense of uncertainty about the future, which can cause clients to experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and significant distress. Many cancer patients may also worry about the toll that their diagnosis may have on their family, their physical health, their job, and their financial situation. The compounding of such stressors can also decrease mental health in clients and may lead to additional symptoms that can influence mental health, such as sleeping difficulties or social withdrawal.

What is the best psychological therapy for cancer patients?

The best type of psychological therapy for cancer patients is highly dependent on the needs of the individual. The therapy type that a client benefits from may also depend on what stage of the cancer journey they are in. Recently diagnosed cancer patients, for instance, may benefit from therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can help clients develop skills to manage the emotional distress that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Alternatively, cancer patients further along in their journey may benefit from therapies like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or other forms of mindfulness therapy to help manage symptoms or physical pain associated with treatment. Clients may also consider group therapy, which offers cancer patients an opportunity to receive support from other individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Are there any risks or drawbacks in going to therapy while dealing with cancer?

Although attending therapy while dealing with a cancer diagnosis can be helpful, one major concern for cancer patients can be the financial cost of seeking therapy. Many therapists are out-of-network, meaning they do not accept insurance, and thus clients are expected to pay the entirety of the session fee. Since many cancer patients may be out of work as a result of their diagnosis or cancer treatment regimen, the costs of therapy sessions can be substantial. Luckily, many cancer centers and local clinics may offer free or substantially reduced-cost counseling services to cancer patients and their families. In addition, cancer patients may be eligible for grants or other forms of funding from local agencies and nonprofits to seek therapy for their cancer diagnosis. Such opportunities can be very helpful for cancer patients, as they allow clients to obtain the benefits of therapy without the financial strain.

How long does cancer therapy typically last?

The length of cancer therapy depends on the needs of each client. In some cases, cancer patients may only require therapeutic support during the period following their initial diagnosis—to help manage the uncertainty and shock of a cancer diagnosis. In other cases, clients may choose to receive therapy throughout their treatment, and even following, their cancer journey. Pursuing therapy for a longer period of time can help clients develop a deeper relationship with their therapist and provide opportunity to process the challenges presented by cancer treatment, such as physical pain, and challenges associated with cancer survivorship, such as ongoing identity concerns, physical limitations, or relationship challenges.
