I help people turn their scars into beauty marks with the use of EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Parts & Inner Child Work, Mindfulness practices & other Attachment-Based Modalities.
You know that saying “Never judge a book by its cover”? Well, I can honestly say that the cover of my book does not match the pages! The pages in my book of life have equipped me with the experience to connect with ALL people. In my book, I’ve encountered many conflicts. I’ve been the antagonist and the protagonist and I’m just in the rising action. Because my pages are not all filled with butterflies and sunshine, I’ve had to work to find ways to help equip myself with daily coping skills. I am happy to be in a position to share my experience with others through therapy and educational opportunities.

I use EMDR therapy and attachment-based therapy to help you heal from trauma and improve relationships.
You’re likely here because you’re ready for change. Maybe the weight of your past feels too heavy—grief, loss, or relationship challenges leaving you disconnected or uncertain. Or perhaps past trauma, intrusive thoughts, or big transitions make it hard to move forward. Whatever brought you here, healing is possible. I offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll explore patterns holding you back, uncover strengths, and create a path toward growth, clarity, and deeper connections. Change is possible, and you don’t have to do this alone.

Whether you are at the dinner table with your family, sitting next to your partner on the couch, or in an office full of coworkers, feeling unnoticed and unheard is a painful experience. Our relationships should be a source of empowerment, safety, and comfort. Not a source of chronic anxiety, stress, and grief. Whether it is the relationship you have with yourself, your spouse, partner, child, parent, or co-parent you are looking to heal and improve, with some fine tuning, we can build upon the skills and strengths you already have to create more meaningful and positive interactions in your everyday life and relationships.

Welcome! I am currently accepting new patients for therapy and testing. Testing can be a wonderful starting point for treatment, as it can help clarify diagnoses and pinpoint treatment goals for the purpose of psychotherapy. If you’re not quite sure where to start with treatment, testing may be a good option.

My areas of specialization include complex trauma, the polyvagal approach to nervous system awareness and regulation, and attachment-based, mindfulness, and other trauma-informed therapies.
Our ability to grow and develop is almost limitless. While we may not easily recognize it, we all have strengths and abilities to aid in meeting our goals. Through helping uncover those strengths and abilities, while providing in depth psychoeducation in attachment theory, mind/body and nervous system function, and regulation techniques, I assist people in navigating challenges such as complex trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, chronic stress, behavioral problems, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

By integrating a polyvagal-informed, attachment-based psychotherapy approach, I collaborate with clients to work through barriers and move toward personal goals.
I have specialized training in understanding how childhood attachment and adverse experiences, such as trauma and health issues, affect the nervous system and, subsequently, behavior. My approach is trauma-informed, meaning I focus on understanding what happened, how it may have shaped the individual, and how these experiences influence present-day patterns.

Using CBT, DBT, attachment-based, Christian counseling (if faith is central to your life), and polyvagal-informed techniques, I emphasize the mind-body connection to foster healing.
I’m so glad you're taking the step toward growth! As a clinical social worker, my passion is helping clients discover and reach their fullest potential. Through self-reflection, we can explore all parts of ourselves—including those that may feel less polished—so we can grow and thrive. Setbacks are a natural part of life, and what's important is learning from them. Past wounds can sometimes hold us back from reaching our goals, but together, we can build the tools to break through those barriers. In our sessions, my goal is to offer warmth and empathy, always honoring that you are the expert of your own story.

I often use a combination of Attachment-Based, Culturally Sensitive, Trauma Informed approaches in my practice.
Limited spaces available as of 2/22/25. ‘I’m broken.’ Life and society tell us this, whether from neurodivergence, religious injury, attachment wounds, chronic pain, or struggling with parenting. Feeling inadequate can lead to isolation, depression, anxiety, and dread that there's too much wrong to fix. It feels true. Yet, my clients are capable, creative, loving, intelligent, and motivated. We’re all failing and excelling at once, making it overwhelming to know how to move forward. Counseling offers the space and time to slow down, find direction, and live meaningfully amidst the chaos.

I use attachment-based therapy to uncover early life patterns affecting you today.
Alcohol & drugs once helped you cope with problems, but now it’s become the problem. The addictive voice in your head keeps you in a cycle of self-destruction even though it goes against everything you value. Loved ones think you aren’t trying hard enough or even love them enough to be sober. Maybe you’re the partner of someone in active addiction or recovery. You find yourself burnt out from the constant lies, manipulation, apologies and promises of change. You struggle to find the line between supportive and enabling. Others don’t understand why you continue to stay, but you know there is more to your partner than their addiction.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
