I currently work with adults to manage Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Family, ADD, ADHD, ODD, Career, and Academic.
There are certain elements necessary in therapy in order to maintain a space of positivity, growth, and healing. Yet, you are not responsible for maintaining those elements. That is the job of the therapist — my job. It is imperative that I maintain a judgment-free space, a space that is challenging but comforting, and a process that is enlightening as well as retrospective. Be open with me about your experience as it unfolds. And if it is not the experience you expected to have, I hope you advocate for yourself and seek support elsewhere if no remedy is made.

I work with adults, couples, and late adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger management, parenting skills, life transitions, trauma and stress.
I work with couples who are wanting to plan their "healthily" ever after and for those who have lost their connection to one another. I use a variety of modalities to help process current struggles and will help you come to the decision of what will be the best for your relationship, even if it means to separate. Your internal peace is my priority.

I have over 20 years experience helping clients with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma and problematic anger.
Many people suffer abuse, neglect or trauma. These can manifest as mood disorders, addictions, relationship issues and low self-esteem. Healing trauma improves life satisfaction and relationships. Narcissistic relationships can be an insidious form of emotional abuse and healing from these is specific focus of practice for me.

You spend so much of your life holding it together for everyone else that it can feel disorienting when you realize you’re exhausted, emotionally reactive, disconnected, or no longer sure what you actually need. Family relationships leave you feeling unseen or trapped in old roles. "Setting boundaries" isn't as easy as others make it seem. The pressure to perform in both your personal and professional worlds never really turns off, and even your “rest” feels consumed by responsibility and overthinking. If you’re quietly carrying it all, therapy can be a place to reset.

I practice what I term Integral Personal Growth Work....integrating body, mind and spirit. I embrace the belief that each of carries within us the capacity for healing, growth and the recovery of our original birthright for wholeness. My work is intended to facilitate and cooperate with what is already "wanting to happen" with-in each of us. I seek to address early damage, emotional deficits and developmental traumas that can block our capacity for full aliveness leaving us consciously and unconsciously locked into coping patterns that often inhibit our becoming all we can be and celebrating the gifts that are our true essence.

Quick to anger or to run.
I specialize in helping you develop the skill to come back into this moment, even though our powerful minds may have developed the habit of stormy thoughts, emotions, and stories. By coming back to this present moment, we can reclaim the life we want to live, unhooked from those thoughts.

Few things are as miserable as the erosion of a relationship. You’re mad, hurt, and don’t know if you want to stay or not. When you’ve made mistakes, you feel lost, guilty, confused, and conflicted. When you’ve been emotionally hurt, you feel betrayed, and your sense of security is damaged. Frequent ugly fights leave you resentful and cautious, constantly on edge, fearing another argument. It makes it worse when your partner openly displays disinterest, criticism, or lack of support. Infidelity feels like a bomb has exploded in your life, and now you are living a bad dream.

My name is Hector Soto, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with two decades of experience supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. I’ve worked in social services, educational settings, hospitals, and outpatient care, which has given me a broad perspective on how stress, trauma, and life transitions affect people at every stage of life. What began as an early interest in medicine eventually evolved into a deeper commitment to mental health after discovering my passion for understanding human behavior and emotional development.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
