I have worked with adult individuals with numerous concerns including substance abuse/dependency, grief and loss, women's issues just to name a few. I am an expert in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have been part of NIMH research studies in CBT for depression conducted at UT Southwestern Medical School, where I held the rank of Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology. I initiated and taught the graduate course in CBT in the Rehab Psychology graduate program as well as teaching cognitive and behavior therapy to third year psychiatry residents at UT Southwestern. I employ a CBT approach to helping people with mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, panic and OCD.

In addition, I spent part of my time at The Meadows as the Assistant Director of Sexual Disorder Services under the direction of Patrick J. Carnes, Ph.D. I am the co-author of 'A Light in the Dark: The Hidden Legacy of Adult Children of Sex Addicts'.
