My specialties include supporting clients with anger management, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ identity, and relationship challenges.
We all have our own stories. Some are of resilience and how we overcome. Some are of tragedy and how we can’t move on. At the end of the day, I think all each of us wants is to be loved and accepted for who we are. No matter your story, I admire your courage for seeking the support you need. I use a mixture of Narrative and Gestalt therapy to help you understand your life story and take better control of it. We focus on the different sides of ourselves, while exploring the past that has led us to this moment, and work to build a better future. I am open, empathetic, and willing and able to stand with you in the chaos.

Together we can create a unique therapeutic experience that will allow you, your child, your partner, or your family as a whole build stronger relationships and support a future where you can thrive.
Each day you find yourself struggling to connect with others or tolerate your own intense emotions leading to acting out the same unhealthy or unfulfilling behaviors that ultimately add to a cycle of sadness or anger. You struggle to feel like you can be truly honest in your relationships with others and find yourself continuing to push others away. It feels as though you spend all of your energy on surviving with no time left to truly take care of yourself. You may watch yourself make decisions you know are damaging, react to others in ways that make you feel worse about yourself leading to unsatisfying relationships.

I work with individuals, pre-teens and teens as well as adults, families, and couples.
Stepping into 2025 we are surrounded by uncertainty. Maybe you are recovering from holiday stress, dealing with extended family, or are looking to make positive changes in your life. Choosing a therapist can be overwhelming…I understand I have been there. I know the feeling of scrolling through profiles and pictures looking for the one that speaks to you. I have walked into new therapeutic relationships both in person and online and know the courage and vulnerability it takes to do so. Not every therapist is a match for every client. I encourage you to take the first step by learning more about me to see if we are a good fit.

I specialize in helping those with anxiety and trauma, both in individual and couples counseling.
Like most of my clients I have my own share of childhood trauma. I’ve had to deconstruct childhood messages of not being good enough. I’ve had to learn to set boundaries and learn that I’m not required to put others' needs above my own. I think learning that I'm loved and worthy, even when other's are angry with me has been the most difficult lesson of all. The very path that many of you are starting out on, I have walked myself. This journey isn't about reliving your worst memories, it's about taking away their power. I’ve worked hard to reclaim my own story, now I want to help you reclaim yours.

Maybe you are caregiving for a sick spouse, parent, or child.
Do you resent your partner? Are you facing cancer or dementia together? Is ADHD is complicating things? Maybe you found out that they’ve been cheating, or you can’t remember the last time you had sex. Relationships can be messy and painful when we stop seeing each other’s hearts. We build walls, cast blame, walk away, or beg them to keep loving us.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
