Over the last few years, I have had the honor to work with first responders, prior military, and their families to manage and heal from the disabling effects of trauma. This work expanded my career into the spaces of addiction, men’s issues, sexual trauma, grief and loss, and shame to name a few. Though this work I found a passion for working with relationships in trouble.

Marriage and family therapy has been the focus of my training in my schooling and professional career. I use this approach (systems approach) to assist my individual, couple, and family clients. During my career I have had the opportunity to work at a hospital, school, and the court system, which all helped prepare me for private practice. I look forward to helping your family reach their goals in a holistic way.

I work with adults, teens, and couples navigating divorce, relationship conflict, anxiety, and life transitions.
Feeling depressed, anxious, or burned out? Coping with loss, healing from a breakup or searching for your life's purpose? You don't have to figure it all out alone. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what's happening beneath the surface, and reconnect with yourself. My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can show as you are. We slow things down and gently figure out what is happening underneath the anxiety, conflict, or emotional shutdown. Often there are patterns, old wounds, or relationship dynamics you’ve been carrying for years without realizing how much they’ve been affecting you.

My specialty is working with children and adolescents where I integrate play therapy techniques.
Hi, I’m Elizabeth! I’m a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor, and I truly believe that everyone has the strength to face life’s challenges, even when it doesn’t feel that way. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming like a puzzle that’s hard to piece together, but you don’t have to work through it alone. One of my favorite authors once wrote, “you do not yield,” I hold onto that as a reminder of the resilience we all carry, even in our toughest seasons. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you or your child can feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll take steps toward healing, hope, and lasting growth.

I specialize in working with adults and teen boys, as well as couples and families who want real, practical change.
When you don’t have the words for what you’re feeling, it’s easy to shut down, snap at people you care about, or keep everything bottled up and tell yourself you’re “good.” A lot of people are used to pushing through and handling things on their own—until stress starts showing up in their body, their relationships, or their decisions. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or at a crossroads, wanting things to change but unsure where to start. What you want is relief, clarity, and the ability to take steps forward instead of feeling stuck in the same place.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
