I use are IFS, DBT, EMDR and Psychodynamic to help individuals understand why you react the way you do, healing the roots, and building tools to function differently
I find the clients who thrive the most in my office are those who have experienced childhood trauma, chronic anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, identity struggles, shame, people pleasing and neurodivergent indviduals. I find that this group finds themselves in my office saying "I understand my problems intellectually but still feel stuck." "I'm overwhelmed emotionally." "I keep repeating the same relationship patterns." "I want depth, not just coping skills." I find that what my clients need is a place to be seen, heard and understood. This allows them to do that for themselves.

ADULT AGE FEMALE ONLY COUNSELOR I see my role in the counseling process as that of a "change agent". Someone who is meeting you at possibly one of the worst times in your life and saying "I'm willing to walk with you through this journey". My desire is to help women who are tired of living a life that no longer works for them. Often stressful life events, such as relationship challenges, job problems, health issues, or coping difficulties can trigger suffering and the need for support.

I utilized CBT, DBT, the AIP model through EMDR therapy while integrating narrative and IFS theories.
I understand how the traumatic experience impacts a person’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and ultimately affects their lives as adults. “Trauma-focused” therapy is rooted in understanding the connection between the trauma experience and the person’s emotional and behavioral responses.

What if your exhaustion isn’t from doing too much, but from carrying what was never yours? What if your nervous system learned survival before it learned rest? Are you the dependable one, always holding it together while silently managing stress, grief, guilt,& anxiety? Sometimes the grief isn’t just about loss it’s the quiet mourning of roles you never chose & needs that went unmet. Many of my clients learned early that love and worth came through responsibility, sacrifice, loyalty, or achievement. Now they carry invisible legacy roles into leadership, money decisions,& relationships. Guilt shows up when you outgrow expectations.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
