Sometimes, we find ourselves on an unfamiliar path, facing uncertainties. Going back is not an option; going forward is frightening. So, we feel stuck, lost, lonely, and in pain. If this resonates with you, know that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. A skilled and compassionate healer can join you along the way. Counseling helps you understand those parts of yourself that keep you stuck and frightened. Learn skills to stop anxiety before it morphs into panic attacks, clarify your values and goals, and deal with barriers that block your joy in life. You'll learn in the very first session that relief is possible.

Life is filled with adversity and our response to challenges matters. You may have noticed you are not quite yourself lately. Feeling differently or acting differently are clues that it is time for change. I understand where you are and I want to help. Let us work together to refocus your life and get you moving in the direction you want. I work with clients to build insight into their issues, think differently, and develop new ways of dealing with their issues.

I draw from evidence-based approaches- including psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and family systems therapy to help you clarify your purpose, identify your values, and align your life with what matters most.
It takes courage to seek help from someone you may not have met before, my goal is to honor that courage by providing a trusting, grounded, and collaborative space where your feelings are heard, respected, and met without judgment. I work with adult individuals and couples. Helping individuals engage in self-discovery, personal growth, and empowerment to make choices that align with their values and goals. Helping couples who are seeking to strengthen communication, repair disconnection, and build healthier relational patterns, while rediscovering moments of joy, closeness, and understanding within their connection.

You’ve checked off the major milestone boxes. You’ve made a decent life for yourself. But it’s not enough. People would be surprised to know how much you’re struggling internally. That’s because they don’t notice the panic attacks, the insomnia, and the inability to relax. Your anxious thoughts seem to have a mind of their own, especially at night. Staying busy sometimes keeps the negative thoughts and difficult emotions away but it’s getting harder to keep everything contained. Survival mode is your default setting. You're overthinking, constantly seeking validation, or doing other things to stop your anxiety and feel in control.

I know things feel challenging right now. Whether you feel impacted by the current political climate & human rights concerns, trauma, relationship stress, anxiety, OCD, distress around food/ your body, or anything in between, I’m here for all of it. The best healing happens in safe relationships, where you feel comfortable taking risks like expressing yourself more authentically, unpacking shame that comes up, or processing painful past experiences. That’s the type of relationship I work with you to build.

Do you feel that life hasn't turned out as planned? Maybe you have achieved big goals, yet you can't shake off a sense of inadequacy. You wish that you weren't so tense or irritable, and that you can stop the negative thoughts from going around and around in your mind. Logically, you know that no one is perfect, but emotionally, you don't believe that you or anyone else can fully accept your flaws. Perhaps you find yourself asking silently: "When is it my turn to feel at peace and truly happy?"

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy.
I work with individuals who are ready for more than symptom relief—they’re seeking deep, lasting change. My practice is designed for people navigating trauma, identity, and internal conflict that doesn’t resolve with surface-level approaches. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ as well as those impacted by trauma, including active duty service members and high-functioning adults who may appear “put together” on the outside while struggling internally with anxiety, disconnection, or unresolved experiences. Together, we look beyond immediate symptoms to locate the underlying patterns and relational dynamics shaping your life.

I provide focused, direct therapy for adults and couples across Texas. If you’re ready to look honestly at the patterns shaping your reactions and relationships, we’ll work well together. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who feel stuck in repeating cycles — defensiveness, withdrawal, over-functioning, or the same arguments that never get resolved. My work is trauma-informed, which means we pay attention to how past experiences shape present reactions. I help you recognize these patterns as they happen and understand what they’re protecting. When we can see the pattern clearly, we can begin to change it.

Is past trauma making it hard to move forward? I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by trauma, chronic stress, or major life transitions. Many of my clients are military service members or veterans, though I also support adults who have experienced trauma from other life experiences. Together, we create a safe and collaborative space where you can process what you’ve been through, strengthen coping skills, and begin moving toward meaningful change.

Therapy is a safe space for you to express whatever comes to mind, without holding anything back. From there, we gently begin to explore the patterns in your emotional responses and relationships, as well as, make meaning of behaviors that may feel automatic or hard to explain. Rather than viewing these experiences as problematic, we understand them to be the wise ways you developed to adapt to your environment and upbringing. Beneath it all is a human longing to be fully known and to feel emotionally safe in the process, but past experiences cause us to unconsciously put up walls that push others away, leaving us feeling unseen.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
