Marriage & Family Therapist, MS, LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S, -
Therapy should not be complicated - it's really about sitting down and talking with another person without feeling judged, talked down to, or being told what to do. My goal is to provide safe, nurturing, and effective psychotherapy to adult, adolescents, children, and families. I use practical and individually tailored approaches. With children and teens my approach is relaxed and non-threatening. I often use play therapy techniques such as: games, art activities, and sand tray. With older teens, adults and families, I strive to create an atmosphere of teamwork that allows clients to educate me about their lives and they changes they want.
Do you keep having the same argument with your partner?
Are you always angry at your partner or he/she always angry with you?
Do you feel you no longer have anything in common?
Wondering if it is too late to save your marriage?
We have all heard the statistics...
50% of all first marriages end in divorce. This rate increases with subsequent marriages. 67% of all second and 74% of all third marriages end in divorce. Most common reasons cited for divorce are: lack of communication, inability to resolve conflict, financial problems, different expectations about household tasks or rearing children and infidelity.
I have been a licensed clinician since 1988. I started working with families in 1984. I have worked with clients as young as two years old up to seniors eighty years young. I love working with couples, families, children, and teens; helping families with the challenges of adolescence and parenting. I work with couples recovering from infidelity and those desiring to strenthen their relationships. I work with PTSD, and Dissociative Disorders. I am trained in hypnotherapy, and EMDR. I was fortunate to complete my EMDR training (Levels I and II) with Francine Shapiro, PhD, EMDR's originator, in 1994.
I counsel adolescents and adults, supporting clients who find themselves in a life transition. Changes in life can be difficult, but can also be an opportunity for growth and insight. My work as a therapist blends traditional and tailored approaches to finding solutions, while providing a safe and encouraging environment. Together we will explore solutions, learn new skills, and work to achieve balance in your life, as you define it. I believe the counseling process should allow you to feel a more balanced and fulfilled life.
Welcome! I work with helpers & high achievers looking to find joy and renewed energy - for themselves & the people they serve. You want to do your best, your purpose is to leave this world a better place, but you struggle with finding flow in your life. Your work is based in helping others, and you find yourself constantly over-giving to your work, taking work (or work-stress) home, and putting your work commitments before yourself and your family. You then feel guilt & shame for doing it. Untreated, the result is overwhelm, depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, feeling "stuck", and becoming numb to your purpose or life.
Your story is unique, your experiences unlike ANY other. The process is to find you as you are, and to journey together to where you want to be. My years of work with traumatized and grief-stricken clients and families have brought the conclusion that anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships are the barriers to a healthy self, to a meaningful and purposeful life. Determining the causes and our role in these barriers (overwhelming and unduly burdensome at times) will begin to get us unstuck. Circumstances likely have driven you to the point of therapy, but a great opportunity to regain control and find the healthy you.
Your PEACE doesn't have to be limited. The devastation of betrayal, abandonment, divorce, disease, or death can change you instantly. Perhaps resentment, depression and anxiety are interfering with the quality of your life. Is ADDICTION keeping you in bondage? Trauma keeping you from experiencing life? If anything is preventing you from getting to a healthy place, maybe it's time to examine what your next steps will be. Don't allow fear, work, and life's hustle to keep you from having peace. FIND PEACE REGARDLESS OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. Life can get better!
You are the expert on you." This is a statement that I love sharing with my clients because I feel it emphasizes that you are the most important part of this relationship. I hold this relationship in high regard and look forward to walking alongside you during this journey. I specialize in trauma counseling and marriage counseling. My goal in therapy is not just symptom reduction, but liberation from suffering.

Life is a challenge without adding bumps along the way. You don’t have to face difficult times alone. Waking up every day feeling depressed, alone, and uncertain of what you need to do to feel like yourself again can become an overwhelming version of Groundhog’s Day. Therapy can be key to unlocking the door to a stronger, more confident, and happier version of yourself. If you allow me to be part of your journey I can help you find relief from the burden that you have been carrying. I believe that taking a person-centered approach can help promote growth and give you back the power and self-worth you deserve.

Growing up in the world today is no easy task. Couple the "normal" aspects of childhood with things like the implications of COVID and social media--many children and youth are struggling. I see these struggles everyday in my other role as a school counselor. I am passionate about providing a safe space, coping strategies, coaching and targeted interventions for improving overall mental health and well-being.
I have a passion for working with children and have worked with kiddos of all ages as a public school teacher and a counselor since 2011. I love incorporating play, art therapy techniques, and animal assisted interventions in my sessions. I strive to create a trusting relationship with each child and their family and create a safe and fun space for processing feelings. I believe that each client has innate strengths and abilities that can help them work toward therapeutic goals. I provide play therapy, individual counseling and canine assisted counseling for children, adolescents and teens ages 3-18.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapy and I also hold a PhD in marriage and family therapy. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I believe that my clients should be in charge, you are the expert in our meetings and I would love to be your support system in meeting whatever goals you set for yourself.
