At Alethia, we prioritize counselors who can help you feel at home - people you would enjoy getting coffee with, much less talk about the hard things in life.
I love to help people live free, full, overflowing lives and I have been doing it for 25 years and I've trained more than 60 therapists. We can allow so many things to steal the joys of living, but often taking the time to intentionally grapple with life can make all of the difference - it has helped each of us, too.

Have you ever asked yourself, "I know better...why am I doing this? Why am I feeling this way?" Are you often ready to fight or flee, bracing yourself against danger? Feeling immobilized, overwhelmed or like you may collapse? If your actions, emotions or thoughts keep you feeling unsafe; like you can't get past a distressing event, there's hope. If it seems you've tried everything but still struggle, my training and experience can facilitate healing. Even the brightest people get stuck; trapped by behaviors, beliefs or emotions. I would be honored to help you stop sabotaging yourself!

I have post-grad training in trauma recovery, anxiety issues, relationship struggles, and, through my education and personal experience, have developed a highly successful approach called The I AM Theory. We often allow limiting beliefs about ourselves to create or exacerbate external issues. We help you discover freedom and healing.

I facilitate and teach individuals or couples how to proactively create heartfelt spaciousness and freedom in their minds and bodies that will affect our relationships with ourselves, significant others, careers, and life path.
You’re a couple who still cares, but something keeps breaking down. Conversations escalate or shut down. Intimacy feels fragile, strained, or confusing. You may be intelligent, thoughtful, and committed, yet stuck repeating patterns you don’t fully understand. You’re not looking for blame or endless talking. You want to understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface and whether your relationship can be repaired with clarity, safety, and choice. This is a Two Hour intensive session to understand the mechanisms of healing in your relationship.

I work with clients to understand what is underneath those patterns without shame, then build practical steps toward steadier choices, self-trust, and a life that feels more their own.
I believe the patterns we struggle with often started as ways to survive. Substance use, compulsive behaviors, anxiety, shutting down, or feeling stuck can all be signs of an underlying battle. I want to help you face that battle without shame and equip you with tools to reclaim your freedom.

Thank you for taking time to read my profile. I know you are busy and need solutions fast. I have 31 years post graduate clinical experience in psychotherapy. My training and experience gives me an advantage when working with complex family dynamics such as divorce, custody and other traumas. I am accepting court ordered Child Custody Evaluations. I am comfortable giving expert testimony and being called as a witness when the situation presents itself. My ideal client is motivated, honest, and ready for relief. My humor- infused style of intervention tends to make the change process more bearable.

What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
