My goals in therapy center around two ideas: helping you feel better and helping you get better. Life gets complicated for all of us (either throughout our lives or during parts of our lives). Sometimes we just need someone else to help guide us through it and teach us a new way to approaching our difficulties. One part involves helping you gain confidence that you can have control of your life, & the other involves challenging your beliefs and world views that keep you from living life to the fullest. Helping you feel better involves compassionate listening and understanding your concerns through your worldview.

Do you ever feel stuck in the same painful cycles—whether it’s the grip of anxiety, addictions, trauma, or the constant pressure to be perfect? Maybe you’re in a relationship that leaves you second-guessing yourself, or you notice patterns that keep you feeling disconnected from the people you love. Deep down, you know life doesn’t have to feel this way—you want freedom, peace, and a healthier way forward. You want to get to the root of why you feel and respond the way you do and feel like you have more control over your life. You believe there is something better for you, you just need help getting there.

Waitlist for new clients
Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who feel chronically tense, stuck, or overwhelmed despite insight and effort. They may struggle with anxiety, emotional reactivity, people-pleasing, or a persistent sense of being “on edge.” Often, they’ve spent years trying to manage their thoughts or emotions without fully understanding what’s happening inside their body. I work best with clients who want clarity, stability, and a deeper understanding of themselves—not quick fixes or surface-level advice.

It's not easy to ask for help. Maybe you've shared your situation with close friends or family and received support and advice, but things aren't really getting better. Maybe you've been hesitant to seek out a therapist. The fact that you're here now is a demonstration of your commitment and dedication to your own personal growth and your relationships. Whether you're experiencing anxiety or depression, or you're looking for a relationship, healing from a relationship that's ended, or are in a relationship you want to strengthen or repair, you're in the right place.

The primary goal is to help each client understand and control their thoughts and feelings, thereby eliminating maladaptive practices of drug and alcohol use.
We utilize the Rogerian approach, thus we utilize a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in sessions such that, in the process, they discover their own solutions.

The decision to reach out for counseling can be one of the most important and helpful things you can do for your mental health and wellbeing. The process can be frightening and uncomfortable. Sometimes we have to take a step outside of our comfort zones and try something new. One of my professional goals is to help build a calm environment and strong therapeutic relationship conducive to meaningful change.

I specialize in walking alongside those who’ve spent much of their lives being the strong one, the caregiver, the fixer, the one holding it all together. My ideal client is tired of surviving and ready to heal from depression, anxiety, trauma, or substance use. Many carry silent burdens from cultural, systemic, or generational pain. They seek a safe space to be seen, heard, and supported. Together, we work to release shame, build boundaries, and reclaim peace. My role is to walk with them as they shift from surviving to living—intentionally, fully, and “self-fully.”

Change is possible. There is hope even when life is filled with challenges and issues that cause distress and difficulty functioning. Not knowing what to do, you may feel stuck in unhelpful thought patterns, overwhelming emotions, or behaviors that do not seem to work or lead to change you desire. As a result, you may experience stress, anxiety, low mood, or relationship difficulties that appear difficult to change on your own.

Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
