Everyone has a unique and individual story. Sometimes this story has deep and dark moments or complex traumas affecting the course of an individual's life. If you have moments in your story triggering PTSD, anxiety or depression, I would love to assist you through this and help change the areas no longer deserving of so much power in your life. I enjoy helping to empower individuals work past areas in their mind causing them to feel stuck. I hope to be able to work with you to feel empowered and brave enough to implement changes in your life.

Have you experienced something traumatic, stressful, and/or life-altering? Maybe it happened yesterday or 20 years ago. Maybe you've had a lifetime of challenges to overcome. You may have intrusive thoughts, your emotions may be all over the place, things that used to be enjoyable aren't anymore, and your body seems to respond as if it has a mind of its own. Life's too short to settle for an unfulfilling existence. We can work collaboratively and holistically to help you take your power back using simple techniques and tools. You're not alone, and together we can work towards improving your quality of life.

I enjoy working with the full life span, beginning at 2-years-old, through a wide variety of concerns. I consider it a deep honor to be entrusted on my clients’ paths to wellness and enjoy when clients are able to pursue wholeness, even when they have no words. Using art, play, music, breath work, mindfulness, animal-assisted therapy, EMDR, developmental theories, and other evidence-based treatments, I seek to approach clients with cultural humility and believe in utilizing my clients’ strengths in the journey toward healing.

If you’re like me, you know what the right thing is. After all, you’re the expert on you. But that’s just the problem, isn’t it? You know the right thing, you know what’s true, and yet still you struggle with self-criticism and doubt. You know you can’t be perfect, and yet you feel shame for not being enough. And you don’t know how to reconcile what you know with what you feel. Truthfully, this is a common problem. But just because it’s common, doesn’t mean you have to go along with it.

You don't have to continue feeling overwhelmed and drowning. Don't give up, give yourself permission to seek help. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but know that it's not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength and courage.

There is wisdom in seeking biblical guidance in order to sort through and resolve life's challenges. At times, we place our trust in others to meet our needs or in our own ability to control our circumstances, only to find them insufficient. Yet meaningful change is a work of God through Christ as we submit our lives to him. God has provided believers a Helper, the Holy Spirit, who empowers, comforts, and guides us through each step of the way. Ultimately, God is interested in changing our hearts, for out of the heart flows all the issues of life.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
