Sitting with people in their darkest moments is the most life-affirming work possible. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings my experience as an academic advisor, grief counselor, suicide hotline supervisor, and community agency therapist to support people through grief and loss (especially suicide loss), anxiety, career transitions, depression, trauma, and self-esteem issues. I often work with young adults navigating their first professional and personal crises. (Please note: I'm unfortunately not able to support clients with substance use issues; eating disorders; legal involvement; or OCD/ADHD concerns)

I have seen time and time again the transformative impact of therapy on people of all ages. It can restore us to a place of peace and comfort or help us reach new levels of growth and fulfillment. It can help move us beyond the moments we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or alone. Likewise, it can help our children move past their self-doubt, difficulty managing their emotions, or sense of being lost in life. In either case, I want you to know you are not alone, nor were you meant to face the challenges of life without help. I will do everything I can to help you and your family embrace life, overcome challenges, and create possibilities

We travel various paths throughout our lives, weaving experiences together writing the story of who we are. Experiences may cause us to question the path, and suddenly our story no longer reflects the life we intended to live. At these times of questioning, we must explore how to proceed. If you find yourself looking for someone to talk with, to think through where life has led you, allow me to walk with you for a while on your journey. What meridian lines do you need to guide you to your destination? Let’s work together to find how your story shifted from your intended path, and let’s find how your journey continues.

I have a passion for teaching individuals, couples and families how to improve their relationships, build confidence and self-esteem, and find greater happiness and satisfaction in life. I work with clients to help them develop strategies and learn specific skills to reach the goals they desire, while also understanding how their changes will impact the people around them. Therapy should feel hopeful and productive, and I love seeing people grow and change and feel more empowered, peaceful and happy with their lives as they learn new things and experience the satisfaction of seeing rapid change.

It's very common in life to feel stuck, like you're trudging up a never-ending hill through quicksand as you watch others just skate on by. When our world feels out of our control, we may feel overwhelmed and a lot of our fears and insecurities can come out. Am I doing this right? Why won't this work? Am I enough? I work with clients to empower them to explore and find decisions that work for them.

I work primarily from an blend of psychodynamic and experiential viewpoints. In this structure, therapy is primarily aimed at helping clients become aware of and make productive use of deeper thoughts and feelings under the surface. As humans, over the years we suppress and manage our emotions in order to cope with everyday life, however, it is only when we acknowledge and express these emotions, that we can rediscover a passion for life.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I provide therapy online via a HIPAA-compliant platform. Sometimes in life, we experience hardships where friends, family, and community are simply not enough to get us through. We often question why me or what did I do to deserve this and now is your opportunity to explore those thoughts and feelings. As a mental health professional, my goal is to create a space for healing, processing, and growth. You can expect me to bring my true and authentic self into sessions.

As a psychotherapist, my role is to help facilitate and support you, the client, in discovering, processing, and most importantly, deciding if changing some strategies you have needed to implement in negotiating your life is a next step in your treatment. It can take time to identify influencing factors in the problems experienced in life. Through the development of a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, we will identify issues, if not already clear to you, and take action in the therapeutic relationship itself to develop the relational, emotional, and or behavioral skills you determine need to be the focus of your treatment.

Do you feel powerless and struggle in your relationships? Do you live in a cycle of worry and regret? I believe the goal of therapy is never to eliminate parts of ourselves, but rather to create relationships with the parts that scare us the most. My therapeutic approach assists clients with intimacy and shifts the extreme roles their parts play in their lives. I believe intimacy within ourselves makes space for compassion, power, courage, clarity, and choice. The ultimate result I hope my clients to achieve is to live a peaceful life with intention and purpose.

Feeling stressed, anxious, on edge, not allowing yourself to feel happy for fear of the next bad thing that might happen. Highly sensitive, you get hurt easily and the emotions take over leaving you doubting yourself and not able to trust others. It’s getting in the way of your life and your relationships. Trying to avoid it, keep yourself busy, or think your way out of it isn’t working. Your insecurity tells you to put others first, but then you feel used or taken for granted. You so want to be seen, heard, and acknowledged.

Life is everchanging. My clients are experiencing challenges that require them to change in order to go forward. Some clients are interested in dreams and personal growth over time. Others want some immediate support to help them sort out the difficulties they currently face: whether it be the loss of a relationship, a career, a difficult illness, or some other major change in one's orientation to life. I have a depth and breadth of experience working with people of all stripes and in both law and social work: that is, people who have been stuck in some very difficult places. I value individuality and wholeness--not perfection.

You may feel, broken, abandoned, or alone in your journey right now. I am proud of you for making it this far. My connection with you is a deep relationship that I do not take for granted. As children, many of us had to learn to make ourselves smaller in order to feel loved or worthy. These early life experiences often shape how we view ourselves and our relationships with others. I work with adult individuals who struggle to find their own voice and identity through a collaborative approach. Together, we will rediscover your voice and reclaim your space. You deserve to take up space in every single room that you are in.

When life becomes overwhelming it can help to talk to someone you trust. As a counselor my goal is to help you better understand your struggles and how to manage them. Children and teenagers often struggle to explain their feelings to adults, and even their peers, making it difficult to get the support they need. Adults sometimes feel that they need to have it all together and take care of everyone else. This often means not taking care of yourself. I will work with you to tackle the struggles you are facing to find peace and happiness.

Find you, Be you, Love you is my motto. Once you learn and accept who you are and where you have come from, you can love who you are. My ideal client is one who despite their struggles and trials, wants to keep moving forward while finding the best solution to do so. They recognize when they need help and accepts that sometimes they can't always do it alone. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use? Is it hard for you to get out of bed sometimes or often struggle with letting go of the past? I have been there and done that and I want to let you know you are there now but you can let it go as well.

Self Esteem Therapists
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
