My ideal client appears strong and capable on the outside but feels overwhelmed beneath the surface. They may struggle with trauma, bipolar disorder, substance use, anger, or relationship strain. Tired of surviving and constantly reacting, they want stability, emotional control, and to break unhealthy cycles. They need a safe, culturally responsive space to build insight, regulate emotions, and grow into a more grounded, intentional version of themselves.

Hi, I'm Andy. Welcome to a transformative journey of self-discovery and personal evolution. Together, we'll begin a quest to confront the complexities of the human psyche and the challenges of our modern world. As a Jungian Analyst Candidate in training, I draw upon the profound insights of Carl Jung and the pragmatic wisdom of existentialist philosophy to guide our sessions through an exploration of meaning. With 10 years of experience as a therapist and 22 years as an Austinite, I specialize in guiding individuals through the complexities of creativity, relationship dynamics, spiritual trauma, and existential questioning.

Are you feeling frustrated, exhausted, and dissociated from your partner, your kids, or your life as a whole? This may be stemming from betrayal, disconnection, infertility, or loss of identity, creating a seemingly unbreakable cycle of miscommunication and hurt. When you constantly feel misunderstood or unseen, it can be difficult to keep negative thoughts at bay. Often it feels easier to avoid and emotionally disengage rather than sit in the discomfort. You may be unsure why you feel this way, how to stop unhelpful behaviors, or how to meet your needs along with everyone else’s – and nothing you try seems to be working.

Waking up to a new day, but it's like déjà vu all over again. The daily grind feels more like an endless loop of the same old routine, and despite the wins, something's missing. It's like living in Groundhog Day, minus the comedy. Behind the scenes, there's a tug of war happening. Success? Check. Anxiety? Triple check. It's a weird mix of "I'm doing okay" and "What am I doing with my life?" that's hard to ignore. Want to find meaning in the midst of the chaos? Learn to stop avoiding the "boogie monster", stop people pleasing, gain perspective, and set boundaries for yourself. Get in the driver's seat again. I see and hear you!

Do you feel disconnected from your spouse-- perpetually trying "reach" him or her, but angry, sad or frustrated at your inability to connect? Or perhaps you find yourself distancing from your marriage partner, avoiding conflict in order to feel safe, only to find yourself "walking on eggshells." You feel the pain of disconnection with the person you love, and you feel stuck; maybe it even feels hopeless at times. If only you could re-discover the bond that somehow still exists beneath the rubble of fighting, avoiding and blaming. Or, possibly your struggles are more individual than relational?

Accepting new clients. EMDR Certified & IFS Level 2 Therapist. You feel anxious, stressed, constantly on edge, and unable to relax due to persistent worries. Something in you tells you to always prepare for the worst. Highly sensitive, you get hurt easily and the emotions take over leaving you doubting yourself and unable to trust others. Trying to avoid it, keep yourself busy, or think your way out of it isn’t working. Your insecurity tells you to put others first, but then you feel used or taken for granted. You want to be seen, heard, and acknowledged, but you don't feel prioritized by the people you care about most.

A pleasure to meet you! Therapy with me is about co-creating a hearth - a therapeutic space for warmth, restoration, and growth along life’s journeys. I work with individuals and families who have experienced the effects of anxiety, depression, substance use, addiction, relational trauma, and complex trauma. These effects often leave us in chaotic cycles of either burning things to the ground or feeling cold and alone. I also am passionate about working with neurodivergent folks (ADHD and Autism) who have maybe felt outcast in their search for connection. Together, we rest and reflect on whatever creating a warm home means to you.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
