Women experience many unique stressors. We face outside pressures from society, family , and friends about how we should act, look, or feel. Are you are in a crisis situation, going through a separation/divorce, struggling with the demands of school, peer pressure, parenting and/or step parenting? Do you feel like you don't have the strength to handle it all or that you have lost yourself in the process.

Sometimes we find comfort in being able to speak to our friends and family when we are having some issues in our life.
Feeling like you don't know what to do? People telling you to cheer up or give advice that just does not fit your personality? As a guy, do you feel like you are lost or don't know where you fit? Do you feel like your kid is not acting like him or herself? Do you feel that meeting in the community feels more comfortable? Guess what, I am here to help and provide the support that you might need.

I have seen time and time again the transformative impact of therapy on people of all ages. It can restore us to a place of peace and comfort or help us reach new levels of growth and fulfillment. It can help move us beyond the moments we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or alone. Likewise, it can help our children move past their self-doubt, difficulty managing their emotions, or sense of being lost in life. In either case, I want you to know you are not alone, nor were you meant to face the challenges of life without help. I will do everything I can to help you and your family embrace life, overcome challenges, and create possibilities

Hi! I’m glad you are here! I'm Rebecca and I am a child, adolescent, and family therapist . I enjoy helping children, teens, and families navigate the stresses of life. The teen years can be a time of uncertainty for both teens and their parents. Family dynamics shift as teens seek more autonomy. My goal is to support parents and teens by using a systemic approach that considers their past experiences as well as providing strategies for better communication leading to a more positive relationship.

I'm a mom, stepmom and wife, and have successfully blended a family --I understand and am intimately familiar with the challenges of today's family and the nuances of communication in a variety of family constellations.
Life's a journey, with many unexpected twists and turns. Sometimes we need someone to talk to, someone to share our thoughts and feelings, dreams and fears, and help guide us toward resolution. I want to help my clients navigate this path, and to also experience the possibilities of living their best life possible. I work with older teens and adults, and also specialize in women's issues across the lifespan, as well as those with health concerns. College students are a special interest, as are educators, as I’ve worked as a teacher and school counselor and understand the stress and dynamics associated with the profession.

I then incorporate Mindfulness-based therapies and Internal Family Systems work to assist clients in developing healthy connections with life, others, and self.
At the heart of my approach is the belief that human beings naturally possess the power to heal, change, and grow. With that in mind, I encourage and support a collaborative process between myself and the client. The purpose of forming this therapeutic relationship is to enable the client to identify the obstacles and resolve the conflicts which interfere with his or her ability to live life fully.

I enjoy working with young adults and couples to provide support around self-esteem issues, family of origin issues, partner relationship concerns, life transitions, boundaries, anxiety, trauma, and depression.
It's very common in life to feel stuck, like you're trudging up a never-ending hill through quicksand as you watch others just skate on by. When our world feels out of our control, we may feel overwhelmed and a lot of our fears and insecurities can come out. Am I doing this right? Why won't this work? Am I enough? I work with clients to empower them to explore and find decisions that work for them.

Jennifer has focused her post graduate education and training on the areas of attachment, trauma and how memories are processed, along with family systems, working with natural, blended and adoptive families as well as grief and loss in terms of relationships.
Jennifer Neill specializes in helping both adults and adolescents and their parents navigate life with the challenges of change. Jennifer understands communication during the adolescent years can be difficult and assigning meaning to feelings is an important component of healthy communication, for both parents and their children. Generational differences compounded with anxiety, depression and/or trauma, can further complicate an already stressful time. Jennifer believes that “manipulation” is a maladaptive way of getting needs met and that trust building or re-building, for both sides, is an important component of change.

Let's take this one breath at a time. I'm Trish and I want to help you get to a place where you feel okay, maybe for the first time. Have you been through a really awful experience that no one seems to understand? Do you feel like you'll never be yourself again? Do your family and friends expect you to get over it, but you just can't? Everyone needs a little extra help sometimes and it's okay if you're stuck. A lot of us have symptoms that linger for years. I want to help you find a new normal and move on with your life. Through trauma-informed therapy including EMDR, we can work together to find you some relief.

Are you feeling stuck in a repetitive cycle that seems impossible to change? Do you see the life you want but it seems just slightly out of reach? Do memories from your past surface, stealing your happiness no matter how much you try to let them go? Most of us have things in our life that we would like to release so that we can move forward and become all that we can be. Working with adolescents, adults, couples and families, I am consistently amazed by the resilience of the human spirit.

Find you, Be you, Love you is my motto. Once you learn and accept who you are and where you have come from, you can love who you are. My ideal client is one who despite their struggles and trials, wants to keep moving forward while finding the best solution to do so. They recognize when they need help and accepts that sometimes they can't always do it alone. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use? Is it hard for you to get out of bed sometimes or often struggle with letting go of the past? I have been there and done that and I want to let you know you are there now but you can let it go as well.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
