What Do You Want More of? What Do You Want Less Of? More peace? More clarity? More connection? More joy in your relationships? Have dreams you told yourself you could not achieve because... Feel unworthy of Love? God? Life? And what do you want less of? Less anxiety. Less shame. Less confusion about your faith. Less replaying of painful memories. Less feeling like you are “too much” or “not enough.” If you are here, chances are you are tired of just surviving. You want to actually enjoy your relationships. You want to feel safe in your own body. You want to trust again — maybe even trust yourself again.

As humans, we are familiar with how unpredictable life can be. Facing uncertainty and what we hide can feel scary, yet feeling stuck can be just as painful. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others, unsure where to begin, or judging your emotions and story rather than understanding. I help clients identify and process their emotions so they can experience relief in a space that is safe, authentic, supportive, and nonjudgmental. Together, we will meet your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with compassion.

Are anxiety, ADHD, stress, life transitions or relationship challenges making it difficult to feel like yourself? You may find yourself overthinking, struggling to focus, feeling emotionally exhausted, or carrying the weight of constant expectations. Whether you're seeking individual therapy or navigating a neurodiverse relationship, you don't have to do it alone. When partners experience the world differently, conflict often emerges from misunderstanding rather than a lack of love. I have a special interest in helping neurodiverse couples build emotional safety while navigating ADHD, autism, trauma and differences in communication.

Normal people have mental health problems, just like they have physical health problems. Honesty and openness are key components of counseling. It is really important to find someone with whom you feel comfortable and in whom you have confidence & trust. The best way to do that is to meet with the therapist in person to see if they are a good fit for you. My primary role is to serve as an objective consultant who uses his training and expertise to help people grow, change & reach their goals. A client's goals are my goals in working with them.

Have you tried therapy before, only to feel like you were going in circles and still struggling with the same issues or reactions? I work with children, adolescents, and adults in Fort Worth who are experiencing trauma-related symptoms, dissociation, anxiety, phobias, OCD, and attachment difficulties. My approach focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying mechanisms that contribute to these challenges, rather than simply managing symptoms. Treatment is structured, evidence-based, and tailored to support meaningful, lasting change.

I help adults and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Many feel stuck in self-doubt, overthinking, or burnout from putting others first. The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll explore what brought you in, touch on your personal history, and begin to shape what you're hoping to get out of therapy. I'll walk you through what working together looks like and go over confidentiality so you know what to expect. My goal is that you leave feeling heard.

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
