Living with Anxiety and OCD can feel like being trapped in a loop. Thoughts race and you try and distract yourself form your worries and fears, but they just seem to get worse. The things that used to bring joy, now fell like too much, so you avoid them. You feel alone, like no one will understand these thoughts that do not make sense. Seeking reassurance helps for a little while but the anxiety always comes back. Living with anxiety and OCD makes everyday a struggle and it is exhausting. Life without the burden of all these worries can feel out of reach, but it does not have to be this way.

Does the idea of getting back to that place seem so daunting you wonder if it's even possible? I've worked with countless couples who have answered "yes" to each of these questions and are now living the relationships and marriages they always wanted. This is a possibility for you too, if you're both willing to do the work to get there.

Constantly thinking about food? Stuck in a cycle of dieting, overeating, and starting over—even though you feel in control in other areas of your life?
You’re not alone. Many of my clients are high-achieving and driven, yet feel frustrated by how much room food takes up mentally. Some are also exploring GLP-1 medications and want a thoughtful, sustainable approach alongside them.
At Emotional Eating Therapy, I help you understand the emotional patterns behind overeating and build lasting ways to cope—without relying on willpower or another diet.
The goal is food freedom: less food noise and guilt, more ease around food.

Perhaps you've spent a lot of your life wondering, "Why does everything seem easier for everyone else?"
Most people who find their way to my office think they need more discipline. Better tools. A way to stop the overthinking and get it together already. And sometimes that's part of it. But more often, what's actually going on is something older and quieter. A part of them that never quite got taken care of, still running the show. I work with adults navigating low self-worth, relationship patterns that keep repeating no matter how hard they try, and emotions that can feel like way too much.

You’re successful and driven, but who supports you when the pressure feels too heavy? I work with high-achieving, career-focused adults -as well as preteens and teens- who are navigating chronic stress, mental health challenges, work-life balance, and emotional growth. I believe that everyone deserves access to mental health support, regardless of their accomplishments. Chronic stress, burnout, imposter syndrome, emotional imbalance, trauma, and mental illness are common experiences that affect us all. The pressure to maintain a façade of perfection often makes it hard to admit that you experience struggles just like everyone else.

I see clients in person on Thursday afternoons and by video Saturday mornings and occasional evenings.
You may find yourself struggling to connect with others or manage intense emotions, often falling into the same unhealthy or unfulfilling patterns that create a cycle of sadness or anger. It may feel difficult to be truly honest in relationships, leaving you pushing others away. Sometimes it seems like all of your energy goes into simply surviving, with little left to care for yourself. You might notice yourself making choices you know are harmful or reacting in ways that deepen feelings of guilt, shame, or disconnection—leading to unsatisfying relationships. Why does it feel like everyone else has it figured out?

In meeting individuals and families, my focus is to gain insight into the complex history of each person. After building a therapeutic relationship, I assess what modality would align with their specific needs. I like to set realistic and attainable goals with each client that I work with. Much of my past and current clientele has consisted of teens and college aged students working through transitions. I gather much of my experience from working as a recruiter for more than 15 years.

Have you ever left therapy feeling like nothing really changed, like it was just another conversation without movement? Many of my clients come in carrying the weight of academic pressure, perfectionism, identity struggles, or the exhaustion of being neurodivergent in a world not built for them. You may be tired of performing, managing expectations, or trying to “get it right” all the time. Deep down, you want to feel authentic, connected, and free to be yourself. Without judgment and without masks. I use ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, and EMDR to help customize the approach for every client.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
