As a parent we are facing different challenges everyday in which we struggle and feel pressured to constantly have it together.
In my experience with families of different backgrounds, parents and I collaborate to understand their children’s behaviors in order to transform their anger, manage their anxiety, improve their communication while strengthening their bond. I wholeheartedly believe that connection is our superpower and supporting you is the best way to help your children.

I use this insight to offer an evidence-based approach when partnering with parents to effectively meet their family's specific needs.
Children are my passion. I have built my practice around providing a safe and inviting space for children to young adults where they can openly explore their unique challenges. Issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, bullying or trauma are experienced differently in children due to their various developmental stages and life experiences. Understanding these stages are important as we collaborate to tackle the tough stuff together. Discovering inner strengths and improving self-compassion are just a couple ways to begin that healing.

You’re capable, thoughtful, and often the one others rely on—but lately it feels harder to stay grounded. You may be managing anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional overload while continuing to show up for work, family, and relationships. Inside, you feel stretched thin, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in old patterns of overthinking and self-criticism. You want more calm, clarity, and confidence. You’re seeking therapy that feels attuned, practical, and meaningful—support that helps you understand yourself more deeply, regulate emotions, and create lasting change in how you relate to yourself and others.

You scroll past birth stories that don’t look like yours and feel a lump rise in your throat. You’re snapping at people you love. The baby’s cries rattle your whole body. You lie awake, exhausted, wondering if you’re doing any of this right. Nothing feels like it used to—not your thoughts, your body, your relationships, or your sense of self. Is motherhood supposed to feel this lonely? You want to feel calm in your skin again, connected to your baby, and confident in your choices—but right now, even breathing feels hard. You just want to feel like you again, without the guilt, pressure, and invisible weight you’ve been carrying.

I consider myself privileged, if not honored, to walk through the life journeys of my clients. I work in a collaborative and facilitative manner with those struggling in relationships, or dealing with anxiety, depression, or work/family issues to name a few. Working with couples and post-menopausal women and their individual struggles in their transitions is also something I enjoy. I believe therapy should be client-centered, goal oriented and short term in nature.

Life's a journey, with many unexpected twists and turns. Sometimes we need someone to talk to, someone to share our thoughts and feelings, dreams and fears, and help guide us toward resolution. I want to help my clients navigate this path, and to also experience the possibilities of living their best life possible. I work with older teens and adults, and also specialize in women's issues across the lifespan, as well as those with health concerns. College students are a special interest, as are educators, as I’ve worked as a teacher and school counselor and understand the stress and dynamics associated with the profession.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
